    Fuel line size

Just replaced the sending unit and noticed the exit was 3/8". My line is 5/16" and was wondering if anyone ran 3/8" all the way to the carb and if it made any difference. Newly rebuilt 289 with Edelbrock Performer Package (600 cfm carb), with Jegs manual fuel pump (not hp), .040, built heads...

    oil pressure question

+1 What's the difference between idle and operating speed? When I rebuilt my engine I picked up a couple cheap gauges from Wal-Mart so I would be certain on oil and temp. Easy to install and will let me know exactly where I am until I decide my final cluster mod.

    DRUMS TO DISC...

Degins, unfortunately the key word is most. I've never seen rockauto's site. Thanks, I'll check 'em out. Let me know when you get that mc working. I'll be a guinee (sp) pig. Seriously. Hey, I got the part yesterday. Thanks. I'm going to work on 'em this week and I'll let you know what...

    DRUMS TO DISC...

Ultrastang, I would be interested in the fittings for the granada mc to adapt the 3/16 lines as I am now using t-blocks and having to block one end. It's all I could find. As far as the flex lines on the granada swap, discbrakeswap.com sends a kit with the correct lines. You remove your...

    DRUMS TO DISC...

6five_stang, I just did this same thing with my '65 289, c4. I don't know where you're getting the kit but you can get it from discbrakeswap.com. He's also on ebay. I don't remember exactly but the whole kit was like $550 give or take a few. New mc, spindles, calipers, pads, prop. valve...

    Torque convertor question

Cool, not many I6's can boast that! I'm not a transmission guru and I know how it is to have problems. I just wanted to say..."cool". I am wondering if the engine was doing this before the conversion.

    granada swap question (prob. stupid)

Adjusted rear brakes, they were pretty close. No change in braking. I guess I'll drive someone else's to compare. Thanks guys.

    granada swap question (prob. stupid)

Thanks for the tips. Ultrastang, the pushrod is the mustang pushrod and the pedal can move back at rest. I can pull the pedal back prob. 3/4". 5.0, I'm going to re-adjust the rear Tuesday afternoon and drive it and see how it does. Thanks for all the help guys. I'll keep you posted. Duane

    granada swap question (prob. stupid)

MC was bench bled. I'm going to try re-adjusting the rears tomorrow or Tuesday...may hunt tomorrow. I'll let you know how they turn out. I've noticed (barely) that if I pump the brakes when coming to a stop it's a little better. A little. It feels like they're not holding tight when...

    granada swap question (prob. stupid)

brake update Alright. Adjusted prop. valve all the way out. Rears aren't locking. Just a soft pedal, kinda spongy. Any ideas? All lines, connections, etc look and feel tight with no leaks. Using granada mc with original pushrod. Also, just around the neighborhood and pull back...

    granada swap question (prob. stupid)

Degins, if you are diskbrakeswap on ebay it was your kit. Nice kit BTW and good price for all you other guys! Great CS also. Granada spindles, rotors, pads, adjustable proportioning valve, new rear brakes (10") with wheel cylinders, granada mc with original mustang pushrod. Bench bled mc...

    granada swap question (prob. stupid)

Just took the first road test today after the overhaul on the '65. Will post a link to pics. Have a brake ?. I did the granada swap...all new parts. No power assist. Stayed manual. Let me preface by saying my car has not been on the road really since '93 (a crime in itself) so my feel for...

    oil pump

65notch, I just completed the 289 rebuild in my '65. Performer package, beefed up heads, etc. You don't need high volume. Standard Melling pump from Autozone...$8.00. If you go high volume there is also a chance you'll have to get a different oil pan to fit. With that said, these engines...

    exhaust for new rebuild

Just got done rebuilding the 289. Have a question about exhaust. The engine is all new parts bored .040, hyper flat pistons, Edelbrock Performer combo, Pertronix, Hedman Elite headers, 302 performance built heads, and you get the picture. Here is where you guys come in. Has anyone tried the...

    Pulling a 289

Same here. I think they are 3/8 bolts. Been doing so much lately I can't remember where my head is. Don't leave too much slack in the chain, your car will raise a few inches when engine weight comes off.

    another c4 kickdown ?

OK 65stang200, maybe we're getting somewhere. It was an original I6 3 speed. I bought the car when I was 16, happy to get a classic, and believed the guy when he said it was original...had a 289, c4. Finally getting around to upgrading. Anyway, it has a 68 c4 in it. Now, can I take the...
