    Updated Restoration Photos

I still haven't gotten around to putting in the glass - but I have made some progress. I installed the carpet underlayment, then put in the foil/air insulation over the entire floor and inner quarters. It should make a big difference in both sound and heat. I used the same insulation behind...

    Electric Door Lock Installation?

My Father sent me a dealer add-on accessory power door lock kit. It is still in the factory boxes and I am considering installing it. I have to admit that there is not much use for it - but but what the heck - it is free. Thanks for the info. SG

Better Photos - '66 Mineral Grey Shelby Clone

Fiberglass hood I bought the hood from the Mustang Ranch. Dimensionally, it was a great fit. It is also of very high quality. The only problem I had was a slight bow in the rear. We fixed that by installing hood bumpers in the cowl lip, which looks very neat and clean after...

Nope, not much progress. I am awaiting the return of my rack after modifying it for headers. I plan on installing the wiring in the next 2 weeks as well. Taking my time due to shoulder surgery and instability at work.....afraid to spend the cash right now.

'66 Shelby Quarter Window Installation Q

Window Gap I think that you might have solved it. The metal frame has only a slight gap where the pieces meet and it could stand to be larger. The metal clips will cover the gap. If the plexiglass was slightly larger I believe that would solve my problem. Also - I purchased the kit about...

'66 Shelby Quarter Window Installation Q

I attempted the install today and ran into a problem. After assembing the unit I found that I have a .25" gap along the top of the window frame. This gap exists between the mounting lip of the frame and the sheet metal of the car. The frames fit very snug around the outter opening, but the...

    Re-Assembly Progress- Photo Link

Fastback Update The car is mineral grey (2000 Ford Color) - but it is very hard to capture the shade with the camera. It has copper/green/brown undertones and is a very heavy metalic.

Shelby brake scoop and duct install

Scoop attachment The originals were riveted on. Two rivets on the top, two on the bottom, and one centered on the rear. I used stainless rivets and they came out fine. I had a hard time finding scoops that fit - but I found some from the Mustang Ranch in California that fit perfectly.

How much is this car worth?

Car worth I don't know where you guys are shopping - but I want to come along. If the car is rust free and clean (hard to tell - everything looks better in a photo) I would estimate around 10-12. I have been looking at mustangs in Texas, Virginia and the North East over the last 10 years...

    Re-Assembly Progress- Photo Link

Began the re-assembly. I have been delayed somewhat due to shoulder surgery, but the progress is picking up. I sent back the FR Rack & Pinion to be modified to fit around the headers. I also found that it is designed to work with stock oil pans only and will not fit around a high-cap pan...

I helped with the alignment, but the body shop did most of the work. The fiberglass panels were alot of work. The job cost 4K total - all the work (I did all of the stripping).

    Mineral Grey '66 Shelby

Reply I *might* have it in a show this summer. Not much of a show person - more for driving. If I have it in any shows it will be the CVMC show in Sept.

    Mineral Grey '66 Shelby

Mineral Grey '66 Shelby - New Paint Photo Link Ok, it's not a Shelby.... I took the best of the 65 R Model, 66 Shelby Street and the modern suspension/brakes and paint and made it my way. It is coming along great and now has paint. I was trying to get by on a 5 year old digital camera - and...

Updated Restoration Photos - Paint Prep.

Rust I'm not sure why the floors held up. There was surface rust on both and a small area (approx. 3" x 6") on the driver's side that I patched due to pinholes. The replacement panel was butt-welded and is in the bend right underneath the pedals. I think that it was wet due to a...

Updated Restoration Photos - Paint Prep.

My car is in the final phases of prepping for paint. The car was very straight and it has all original panels with the exception of the rear valence (did not like the gt exhaust cutouts) and the tail light panel (previous bondo). I also installed a shelby fiberglass hood and r model front...
