Mineral Grey '66 Shelby

Mineral Grey '66 Shelby - New Paint Photo Link

Ok, it's not a Shelby.... I took the best of the 65 R Model, 66 Shelby Street and the modern suspension/brakes and paint and made it my way. It is coming along great and now has paint.

I was trying to get by on a 5 year old digital camera - and the photos are grainy and spotty. My wife bought me a new one yesterday after my complaining but I haven't used it yet.

Overall the paint came out great. I am still going to wet sand and buff/polish - but will probably wait until the drivetrain is in. I have no doubt that I will scratch it during the re-assembly and I can touch it up and finish the polish at that time. I have the body re-assembled with the exception of the front headlight/grille assembly. It was extremely hard to get a decent photo at the shop. The car is still sitting in the booth and the photos makes it look green instead of grey.

Will have more photos later this week - hopefully outside where I can get the color right and show the entire car at once.

In the next few weeks I will be posting photos of my rack & pinion install along with the tilt wheel.

MAN that is the exact same paint scheme I was gonna go with on my 66 coupe! Mineral Grey with black stripes! I had seen one other classic mustang painted this color (on ebay) and it made me like it even more! Yours looks AWESOME! :hail2:

Id love to see it in person, are you planning on showing it anywhere this summer?

I *might* have it in a show this summer. Not much of a show person - more for driving. If I have it in any shows it will be the CVMC show in Sept.
