    Brake Swapping

Lest we forget about loosing the ability of parking/e-brakes. Of course you could do the Ferrari setup and have larger calipers mounted on the front of the rear rotors and a little park brake caliper mounted on the lower rear of the disc...

Are Hawk brake pads really that much better?

I should also add that before I put the Bullitt calipers on I had Brembo rotors w/ Hawk HPS pads. I noticed pretty much no gain in performance and they seemed to eat up the rotors more than I would expect. I've heard others report the latter problem as well. Like GettinThere said, save your...

Are Hawk brake pads really that much better?

I got the Bullitt caliper set from buyfordracing.com and have used them (with the pads that came with them) thru some pretty not-so-nice conditions and also as a DD. Dusting is so-so but I can't complain at all about their performance either on the track (twisties when they get REALLY hot) or on...

Changed the brakes.. no pedal pressure.

I had the same pedal problem after doing front & rear calipers. I'd never thought of touching the master cylinder but someone on here mentioned it. Sure as ***t I tried it and they worked great afterwards.

Changed the brakes.. no pedal pressure.

I agree with DTNODYA. Also, if you got air in your master cylinder, you mght need to bleed it as well. There are a couple bleeder screws on the side of it on the engine side. You bleed it the same way as the 4 corners...

    POLL: Anthracite FR500 or 18" '03 Cobras?

:stupid: That hypercoating looks sick...how and where? I too am partial to the FR500s. They're fairly unique standing still, look cool rolling down the road and I think I may have a little favoritism......

    Brake FLuid FLush??

I use the cheap VW/Audi stuff at work. It's rated DOT 4 and they suggest it be flushed every 2 years, reguardless of mileage. I do mine about once a year since it seems like it's always humid as ***t here and I worry about the water in the system.......That and I'm anal like that...:bang: On...

    Which 13" rotors!?!??!?!

I got powerslots and they've stayed true despite a lot of abuse. Going along with what san~man was saying, I heard of the holes in the aftermarket drilled Brembos rusting shut. When they drill them after the fact the holes don't have the zinc plating in them so all you have is bare metal exposed...

    Race against C6 Z06

Same thing with the VW R32. There's a vacuum valve in the rear muffler. When you accelerate hard enough and the engine builds up enough vacuum the valve opens and "unmuffles" the exhaust. Simply bypass this and sweet sounds 24/7 :nice:

    Serpentine belt problem

3/8" tensioner here too. The PCV valve is on the passanger side underneath the intake boot. You'll have to pull the hose off (the previously mentioned one that comes from plenum) before you can take the valve out. Once you get to that point you should be able to twist it out (1/4-1/2 turn...

    A/C Condensation Problem

Pefectly normal. I'll pull mine in the garage at night and it sounds like air brakes from the water sizzling for about 5 minutes. Nothing to worry about :nice:

i have got to stop driving my car so hard.

Gotta agree there...those are the most over-engineered POS cars out there. I don't know how long ago it was that you worked on them, but the newer ones are electrical nightmares. I have never seen cars like these where you have to set adaptation/readiness codes whenever you hang a part on a car...
