For those who did a T5 swap

Thanks for the input everyone. Now I have a good idea of what I can expect with this swap. Did you guys just get the driveshaft shortened 1" or did you take measurements and go from there?

For those who did a T5 swap

I'm looking to get a T5. Was just wondering what bell housing people have used (existing vs. T5). It seems like useing the T5 housing is easier, stronger, but it's 1" deeper. I read that the adapter plates aren't very strong and harder to install. I would like to avoid having the driveshaft...

    Looking for a 9

Doesn't matter what broke. I found my 9" and it should be ready in a couple weeks. I'm not sure how serious the damage is but it's not driveable at this time.

    Looking for a 9

That's probably about 1 1/2 hrs from where I'm located. If you would like to stop by just PM me closer to that time.

    Looking for a 9

I find it hard to believe that I blew out the 8" too...but it happened. I'm not pushing that much power! Had it checked out by a couple different people though and they all give me the same response. A 9" will be nice for the future mods I plan on doing. I'd rather build up the rear now...

    Rocker arms on 302

Stock rockers are pretty cheap. I replaced all of them on my 289 for about $2/rocker at a local parts store.

    Gt40 head info

I'm goign to go to a huge car show and swap meet tomorrow and am going to look for some GT40 heads. How are these identified...don't want to get ripped off. Also what seems to be a reasonable price for these. I'll probably get the iron heads since I'm not too concerned about weight.

    Turn signals stopped working

I had the same exact problem with my '67. I ended up having to replace the switch.

    Need help with Turn Signal!

You can get a new switch from National Parts Depot and Year One. Mine just came in yesterday.

    What the heck!

Thanks for the advice. I backed them out 1/8 turn and now there's no ticking and no rough idle.

    What the heck!

I noticed some ticking coming from the passenger side of the engine (289) so I adjusted the rockers at TDC per Chiltons manual. After I did this the ticking has gone away but now it is running rough on this side of the engine. The engine is stock except the intake and carb. I took the car for...

    Weight

Does anyone know how much a stock '67 with a 289 weighs?

How much weight is too much for balancing?

I worked in a tire shop once and I never had to put that much weight on a rim...unless the weights were put on the inside only.

    Pushrod Q

Thanks for the info...I'll give that a try.

    Pushrod Q

So my motor was making a ticking sound from the passenger side so I took off the valve cover and some of the rockers seemed pretty loose. I looked in my manual about setting the valve lash and adjusted per the instructions (tighten down rocker until pushrod doesn't spin at TDC for each piston)...
