Front Suspension Issue - Clunking and Cupping

I did the alignment right after the rack, the clunk was before and after both the rack and alignment done. One other thing, the sway bar bushings that mount to the apron, could they cause this if they're messed up?

Front Suspension Issue - Clunking and Cupping

I've actually done most of that, except having someone look aat the ball joint while I pry up on the tire. I'm guessing ball joint and alignment. Other than that I could only think of the control arm bushings. I think a previous owner (over 8 years ago) repaced one of the ball joints but not...

Front Suspension Issue - Clunking and Cupping

My tires are cupping on the inside. I hear a clunk occasionally when making sharp, low speed turns to the right. I wanted to get an alignment, but I don't think that will solve the issue. Shocks/Springs should be good, rack was replaced and alignment done about a year ago when I first...

    Strange grinding issue from starter

A 1991 Mustang GT The starter works fine, does not grind and the motor makes only normal noises when the distributor electrical plug is out. When connected, the starter grinds. How could this electrical connection cause an issue with the starter???

Whose fault is it? Rear control arms or springs?

Get the motor and transmission mounts, urethane mounts are good. When they arrive, go to a Home depot or somewhere where you can get grade 8 bolts for them if not included (or buy from the site you got the pics from). This is certainly a problem, fix it first. See where your driveshaft sits...

    Speaker in Spare Tire Spot

My brother did that, custom carpeted piece, having seen some of the systems he's made, it would sound better with a box. Show factor is cool though. I think you're underestimationg the size of the amp/sub if you're going to try to fit a battery in there. With one 12" sub you shouldn't need a...

90 GT Running rich, backfiring?? Help!

Be careful, the clips break easily, get someone to pull the plugs apart, while you pull the clips outward with a screwdriver or pick tool. It took me about 10 minutes to get mine apart by myself.

90 GT Running rich, backfiring?? Help!

Before you go spending tons of money on new sensors and gadgets, remember that the car is basically 20 years old. My 90 was having very similar problems. 1. Buy some electronic parts cleaner and dielectric grease. 2. Disconnect all of your plugs leading to your sensors, especially the...

    quad shocks

They have them at advanced and autozone as well as on summit, if the axle damper (the shock) only needs a bolt and a nut, you could get them from home depot. If you need the bracket with the stud on it and the bracket on the axle with the nut connected to it, you're probably heading to the junk...

Daily driver not running well, need some real help!

I think I fixed the problem, I was using parts cleaner on all of my connections and on the mass air and I noticed that the EGR electrical plug had come loose. The clip holing it on was broken on one side, so I put a zip-tie on it the other day, but it seems like the zip tie was loose (probably...

Daily driver not running well, need some real help!

Unfortunately, that has never worked, I know the trick where you put your finger over it and seen it work on other cars. Mine never did anything though, still doesn't. I have the vacuum line that goes to the EGR blocked off right now, so it shouldn't be able to open, right?

Daily driver not running well, need some real help!

After changing back to the old cap and rotor, everything seemed to go back to normal. The car ran great all the way to work. On the way home however, I got a single pop out of the intake, and the idle rose up to 2000 RPM. Later, the car was putting out inconsistent power while driving and...

Daily driver not running well, need some real help!

Disconnecting the EGR didn't really help, I think it is only running well when it's warmed up, I'm going to reconnect it. What would cause the car to backfire out the intake on city streets and run seemingly fine on the highway? I changed the cap and rotor the day before this all started...

Daily driver not running well, need some real help!

Based on the codes, the EGR seems to be bad, I disconnected it, giving me a 'check engine' light for now, but I will replace it with a new one or the delete plug. As long as the check engine light is on, it seems to run fine, but I will be continuing to work on it tomorrow.

Daily driver not running well, need some real help!

I got codes 81, 84, and 85. What would you think, based on the symptoms and codes? I just checked vacuum lines and sprayed carb cleaner around to check for leaks, with no noticable change in performance. I'll be able to get a ride to a parts store, any recommendations? I was planning on...

Daily driver not running well, need some real help!

I probably should mention that the popping is only while I am driving it, the fuel pressure is normal (38-40 lb) when there is hesitation and everything else though with the car still. I haven't checked for codes yet. I am not getting a check engine indication, but with the mods I wouldn't...

Daily driver not running well, need some real help!

I have changed my: air filter distributor fuel filter Checked my: timing fuel pressure The car is popping, which causes a loss of power. It sounds like it may be coming from the intake or exaust, possibly both. Throttle response is gone. It is an intermittent problem, but the car is...

    Went to the track, dissapointed

Thanks for the reply, yes I'm sure... There was gasket material blocking the flow before, so there should have been an increase of power. Thanks for the numbers, that explains some of it. I'm going to do a tune up and go to the other dragstrip, where I ran the 13.1 and see what happens.
