I used some radiator paint from Eastwood. It goes on like laquer--several LIGHT coats. Pretty good stuff.

    RANT: Stupid Semi Trucks

I couldn't even give the finger as my son was with me. I was totally hobbled! :D Why aren't cane/gin trucks not subject to the same laws? I always wondered how the Natchitoches Gin truck could pass inspection, but who knows. . . .?

    RANT: Stupid Semi Trucks

Thank you. Maybe I could encase it in a giant Nerf ball? :nice: :D :rlaugh:

And get rear ended by the cars behind me on my tail? What I need is some James Bond front mounted missles. Or a laser with a 360 degree field of fire. :nice: ZAAP! :D

    RANT: Stupid Semi Trucks

D-- Are you far enough south to have played with the Cane trucks? I had never seen one of those until a couple of years ago. Cane was flying out the back of the truck and onto the highway. In Natchitoches, the Cotton Gin trucks are crazy, too. One in particular springs to mind--a early...

D--how close are you to the vehicle ahead of you when you merge on to the interstate? That far back, really? --Paul

    RANT: Stupid Semi Trucks

Wrong. I was merging behind the truck that dinged me. The log truck had a complete empty lane to move over. He was simply being a jerk. I wasn't speeding--I was trying to get up to speed to merge on the interstate. I was also about two and a half car lengths behind the semi that dinged...

    Advise please on LED Taillights

sequential blink 1, 2, 3--like the cougar and shelby tail lights. Non sequential are just LED versions of what you have now.

    RANT: Stupid Semi Trucks

Short story: Driving in Baton Rouge today and one log truck wouldn't get over and let the semi ahead of me merge on to the interstate. Semi ahead drives on the shoulder and kicks up a rock that bounces on my hood, off my windshield and over. I have a nice 3 part chip in the middle of my hood...

    Clay Bar??

GOOD REMINDER! The bar will pick up grit and serve as sand paper. I have an 18 month old son. Babies' butts are, indeed, smooth. :D --Paul

Audio help for the hopelessly confused.

Head in the glove box--replace the old sony that I have in the glove box--and the ipod wired in to the head. It can live outside the glove box. That I don't mind. --P

Audio help for the hopelessly confused.

Hi all-- Q: What is a good lower cost deck that will fit in my glove box? My aged Sony (with a cassette deck) [HANGS HEAD IN SHAME] needs replacing. I don't need much power as I have two 6X9's in the back and, eventually, will have two 6 inch speakers in the kick panels. The only...

    1966 A/C Question

I had a york on my 66 and every time I turned on the AC, it would rumble so much that it sound like I had thrown a rod! Switched to a Sanden with 134a and I really like it. Quiet and efficient. I've solved my 134a problems and now have cold air on demand in 95+ degree heat. Had to put...

    Break-In-Procedure for New Engines

This is interesting. I don't know if I buy it, but his pics of "used" pistons are hard to argue with if they are un-doctored. What do y'all think? --Paul

    Advise please on LED Taillights

I was reading about these. Are they really that easy to install? How do they fit in the sockets? Trouble lining up leds with slots in lenses? I finally found taillight bodies without those damn pigtail extensions so now my tail lights work all of the time. This was my next purchase. . ...

    Clay Bar??

Touch your paint? Feel rough or bumpy? If so, use the clay bar. You'll be amazed A) what will come off of your paint and B) how much easier wax will come off. I have a damn fine shine on my 66 and the paint is over 10 years old. Try it. You'll like it. --Paul

    I'm half deaf

Pale-- I know, I know. At least it isn't an 8-track with a cassette adapter. (Remember those?) I don't use the tape deck as all of my music is on my iPod. Still, I was hoping not to have to upgrade for awhile as the summer has brought the following Blown head gasket on Mustang in May...

    I'm half deaf

Need some help from the stereo gods--my 66 has a plain jane Sony tape deck in the glove box. Lately, it has developed the bad habit of occasionally when the stereo is turned off, emmiting a piercing shriek as it powers down. It is so loud it makes my ears ring. Is this some kind of feedback...

    Highway trips = Burning Oil?

Pale--just plain ol' havoline 10/40. No lost pressure, loss of power or any of that stuff. Just down a bit after highway driving. Thanks, y'all! :nice:
