Short story: Driving in Baton Rouge today and one log truck wouldn't get over and let the semi ahead of me merge on to the interstate. Semi ahead drives on the shoulder and kicks up a rock that bounces on my hood, off my windshield and over. I have a nice 3 part chip in the middle of my hood and a chip in my windshield.

I hate those damn things. :fuss:

Sigh. Off to get the touch up paint.

Did you get the name of the company? Or did he have one of those, "How's my driving?" stickers?

I guess I should say you shouldn't follow so close.

My merging story:

I'm driving down I-35 in OKC in rush hour traffic in the morning. Early rain left the road slick, I was moving from the left lane to the right as after the on ramp I was going past, there is a off ramp that I needed to get off on. I move to the right, the left closes up, slowing down, the Suburban in front of me slams on his brakes and his nose dives. There was a car at the end of the onramp, the very end. The car in front of the suburban stops, YES, STOPS!!! on a major interstate in a large city during rush hour to let the fool at the end of the ramp in. He hears the suburban locking up and sees that he's about to cause an accident and floors it, the suburban gets off his brake, then reapplys the lockup condition when the fool at the end of the ramp darts between the other jackazz and the suburban. I'm on my brakes yelling "EXPLICATIVE, EXPLICATIVE, EXPLICATIVE, EXPLICATIVE,......!!!!!" as I see the second lockup and tag the suburban. Really did no damage to the suburban but my lowrider Isuzu took mucho damage above the bumper. The dude explains what happened and he got both tag numbers and we wait for the OHP or a city cop to show. An offduty OHP guy pulls up and the dude tells him the story, the officer asks us if either car hit either one of us, or if they hit each other, answer, no. Then they're not involved in this accident. WHAT!?! THEY CAUSED IT TO HAPPEN IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!! He says he doesn't see anything wrong with the suburban except some of my paint on the bumper (it was an older one, the bottoms of the doors showed rust bubbles) and all that would happen would be that I would get a ticket for following too close and that if we could come to an agreement, he recommended we just go on our way. The dude had me sign a paper saying I wouldn't sue him, the officer signed as a witness, and I had my insurance company pay the $2500 to get my truck fixed.
