    Should I encourage II ownership?

I like to think of the II as a pleasure craft. It is too old to be a car. Like a jet ski, ATV or snowmobile it is a fun week-end vehicle. Not to say I am afraid to drive mine, I hop in mine and cruise to car shows three hours away. I guess it would also depend on how far you had to drive. When I...

    Your First II

I got my firt II when I was 17 (1992). 1)1978 Mustang II 2+2 T-top V6 Auto. I rebuilt and swapped in a 302 and had it almost road ready when I bought a parts car for $50.00 that upon a closer inspection was in much better shape than the 2+2. 2)1978 Mustang II Ghia V6 Auto. Bought it for...

Time to bomb the "terrorists" again.

The title is bait."quote-Wart" My media teacher called it "Capture Technique" but bait works :D The terrorist bit was intended as a joke  Gas prices although off topic seamed relevant because II's were never very easy on the dyno juice

    Movie Review!

This is big time off-topic, but I would bet the farm that 99% of the people on the II forum are Dukes of Hazzard Fans. The Dukes was my favorite show when I was young. When I saw the trailors for the new movie, I had very, very low expectations. I figured it would be really, really bad. I am...

Time to bomb the "terrorists" again.

In Canada you can buy 3 grades of gas at most gas stations. 87 / 89 / 91 / . A few stations offer 93 and one large and popular chain called Sunoco has 94 on tap. :D So a 15 gallon cell full of the good stuff + 10 pounds worth of nitrous are going to cost me.....about what I paid for my Mazda...

Been a While, Just Checking in

Also factor in that EVERYTHING except the transmission has been done by me alone with zero help and it takes a while heheh. The only problem with doing everthing yourself is you only have yourself to blame :D Things I learned. -I can build an engine, but leave the automatic...

    Fastback Hatch Gap?

There is suposed to be a gap :D The original hatch on my II fit perfectly, but had a little rust. I got a used hatch off a "Southern Parts" dude at a swap meet. It had no rust but, no matter how you adjust it the gaps are too small. I gave up and figured the experts at the body shop could...

    stupid rice burners

In Canada Squeeling tires = "excessive noise violation" or "exibition of speed" I have had a few of each. Wow the more I think about it, I must have been a bad ass :D Now I put my son to bed at eight-o- clock crack open a lite beer and argue with some dude from Ohio on the internet

    What 9" will fit a 78KC

And the cable clamps didn't tip you off to anything? True, a little crude :D I would probably do the same though, I only ever use the parking brake durring the safety inspection (on automatic cars). It is kinda scary how pencil thin a parking pin is though  Do I...

    stupid rice burners

There is a time and a place. The time is test & tune durring an import event, the place is the drag strip. :rlaugh: When I worked at the speed shop I went to watch my customers race their imports. They asked me what I thought? "I figured they would be quicker" I said. "If your Mustang was...

    What 9" will fit a 78KC

This dude has a 9" Versailles rear axle in his 1978 King Cobra. In the artical in the Magazine he quoted "bolt in" . he spiced the II parking brake cable to the Versilles cable with hardware store cable clamps. I supose his "bolt-in" has theoretical spring bind. Do you really think that in this...

    What 9" will fit a 78KC

A 1977-1980 Lincoln Versailles is a direct bolt-in. A Versailles is a pimped Granada which has practically the same rear suspension as a 74-78 II. The Monarch/Granada had 5 lug 8" rear ends. The Versailles had a 9" with rear disc brakes. Many had 2.50 rear axle ratio and you will want to change...

    Is my II abnormal?

I don't know about frenching the windsheild, but flush mounting the glass and ditching the stupid trim would be kool. Hairy glass sells a hood that extends back to the windshield. (You need to remove the wiper cowl, it is intended for race cars). I think one of these hoods with hide-away wipers...

Way Kool! :nice: Never put it on jack stands and place it in reverse to roll back the odometer :D I have never seen a gold Ferrari looks kller! I have more respect for Wart now, guy is such a Mustang enthusiast he can't even spell Camaro :D
