Well had the car on the dyno on Thursday. Mustang Dyno. I went in expecting low numbers but not quite as low as i got. Here's the combo, you see where all the power is being lost. Dart Block 408 TFS-R CNC Ported Heads TFS Box R Intake 8.5:1 Compression Small Custom Cam to keep car...

Should I sell my MSD 6al?

Keep the 6AL and get a two step. The spark they generate is enormous. You never have to worry about your plugs blowing out. I have a 3 step but that's because i have a trans brake.

    What a POS

Yup, good call! You must be a Calgarian. Thursday April 30 is the day so hopefully she holds together on the dyno. Matt's an awesome tuner. I believe, don't quote me on this, but he is the highest level SCT tuner in Canada. He tuned my 96 and did an awesome job.

    What a POS

The numbers seem about right unfortunately. You will not get a decent sized cam even with a custom cam. I have a custom Buddy Rawls (comp cams) grind and it is still small. It's because of the big cubes and low compression. You can't go lumpy, it kills the engine, at least with fuel injection...

    My 351 build with pics

Very nice work! Can't wait to see the dyno numbers. What kind of compression are you running? I'm having my 408 dyno'd on April 30. It only has 8.8:1 compression though, I was gonna blow it or turbo it but now that the economy has gone to crap I'm scared to spend that kind of cash. Hope all goes...

    Battery Size

Ya I was gonna say Walmart too. I know the one that fits in my car is a 5872. The first 2 numbers "58" denote the size (Height Width) of the battery and the second two numbers "72" denote the cold cranking amps.

    Need Tranny Help

We swapped a C6 Tranny (3 speed auto w/transbrake) into my 88 Notch and mated it to my 408 over the winter. I just took the car out of the shop on Monday to bring it home. When I drove it through the parking lot and shifted into second gear the car totally locked up, wheels totally stopped...

    What do i need to beat a 2008 Zo6?

There won't be any problem braking with this set up. There a re a lot of cars well into the 9's using drums. The bonus I have for the drums is the weight reduction I've done to the car. It's somewhere in the 2700-2800# range now. A lot lees weight to haul down from speed. Oh and by the way the...

    What do i need to beat a 2008 Zo6?

She's pretty fun right now even. Talk about tire shredding torque, holy moly. I'll get some better pictures of her now. She has Weld Prostars on her. I've finished all the work underneath her now so she's on the ground, was jacked up all winter in my buddies shop until I had a chance to work on...

    Is a 4" CAI overkill?

I have my own custom 4" on the 408. Flows awesome.

    What do i need to beat a 2008 Zo6?

She's got 8.85:1 compression. Waiting to be able to put a F3 Procharger or 100mm Turbo on her. Crappy economy blew my power adder fund so gotta wait probably til next winter. Oh well. She goes hard now.

    What do i need to beat a 2008 Zo6?

I have no problems with the new Z06's. Never seen one even close to the 10's or 129mph. Fastest I've seen is 12.2 @ 119. Elevation doesn't help her either. Corrected is usually in the 5400ft range. Here's my combo, has not been dyno'd yet. Dart Block clearance for 408 Trick Flow Highport "R"...

    weld wheels

When i bought my Prostars they asked me if my car was a 93. They said there were problems with brake clearances with 93's. Worth checking into. i didn't have a 93 so i didn't have any issues.

wheel & tire combo's on your fox, lets see them.

Will look better once she's on the ground and clean but sorry onlky pic I have of her with the Weld Prostars so far. Old rims, no idea what they were.

    tweekedgt's progress thread

As some of you may know last years project was to get a 408 into the 88 notch. I also got the vinyl "paintjob" sponsored by a buddies shop. I know the purests around here hate the body kit and I did at first but it has actually grown on me now. This winter I've gone full meal deal with the car...
