    Length: Bumper to Bumper

What's the length of our cars from the tip of the front bumper to the back of the rear bumper? I'm trying to figure out if the car will fit in a 10x15 storage unit. I don't have the car in the same state as me or else I would measure myself. Thanks. Jake

Hey Grady... thanks for the congrats. Still don't know if I should get rid of the car, but I definitely can't seeing me driving it to the GM proving grounds.. haha.

Been out of it for awhile...

Hey fellas- Haven't been on here in ages. I finished up school and got a job with GM... haha, I know. I worked for Ford for two summers, but they're not hiring anyone for 2008, so I hopped on with GM. I'm doing powertrain calibration out at the Milford Proving Grounds. Anyways, I was...

    Wierd miss. What gives????

I tired a bunch of stuff for my miss and it ended up being the distributor itself. Jake

    ok...still nothing.....

Eliminate the fact that it could be the dizzy first. I don't know how you've been doing it before, but here's what I do. Take out the #1 plug put your finger over the hole and crank it over slowly until you see the balancer coming up on 0* BTDC. Then when you're close, take a breaker bar...

Quick belt question for those who have deleted smog!

I wanna say it was a 89.5" belt. I remember I had to try a couple in the auto parts parking lot. Yeah, I get a little tensioner click every once in awhile...annoying. Jake

Check the fuse under the dash. Mine blew one time and the light was on. Your owners manual will tell you which one it is. Jake

First Time: How long to swap intake manifold

Yeah, let the RTV dry over night. This is one reason I got so good at taking my intake off....right after I got it assembled I took it for a spin and hammered on it and blew the front and rear seals between the intake and block right out. Jake

First Time: How long to swap intake manifold

BTW...I think Hillie might still have his intake swap guide in the sticky. I used that when I did mine and it was a huge help. Jake

First Time: How long to swap intake manifold

Unless you've done alot of teardowns before you're not going to finish an intake in 3-4 hrs, especially if it's your first time doing it. There's always the small stuff that comes up. Just budget a weekend you'll be happy if you finish it in a day. That's just me, but it sure gets alot faster...

    High RPM Miss at WOT

That's hard to tell from outside the car, but it sounds a lot like what mine was doing. Mine would just fall on its face after 5k or so and cut out hard. When I was on the road and at WOT, when it would cut out I would go from pressed hard against my seat to making the seat belt actually lock...

    help me pick some parts!

255 is good for that unexpected nitrous upgrade. I put one in and have no regrets. Same price as the 190 or whatever size. Why the heck not? Jake

    High RPM Miss at WOT

Thanks JP! It's been too long! For future reference, I also learned that no matter the miss (spark or fuel) it will always show up lean on the wideband. Jake

    werid vibration

Bad balance on tires? Worn tires? Sloppy U-joints? But my guess.....low on tranny fluid and the torque convertor is going nuts. Maybe... Jake

My car still hasn't been properly tuned and it's been 3 years. I just took it out and it was 12.0 at WOT. At least there's still more in it. :D But yeah, I ran on the stock EEC for quite sometime before I got the tweecer. Jake
