    thanks, i had my temp gauge in my thermostat housing but it's not the same size. Where is a good place for it, just in the mani any place?

    Did that. Got new gaskets. I pulled my valve cover and the oil was like water. I dont know what the hell is wrong. Maybe a hose is in the wrong place? I'm going to get it sent down to a shop to finish. I've spent to much money and got no where. I'll leave it up to the pro's now. :(

    How should i go about figuring it out? I'm going to tak the v/c off again make sure the oil is ok. There is fire comin out of the carb so i'm assuming it's just bad timing and the leak was having the wrong gaskets (dumbass mechanic again) and the intake mani not sealing.

    I checked it with the light and there is a circle but nothing to line it up with. All i see is a circle and it jumps around. What do u mean by the other side of tdc? bdc? lol

    yeah he was a deusch bag. If i cant get it to be right this 3rd time around, im' going to have it towed to a mechanic to finish. It's been to long and to much money has been wasted.

    yeah i had my mecanic do the cam, and put the motor kind of together, i just dropped it in, put the carb, and everything else. He just helped finsih the motor. Yeah it's backfiring through the carb.. Tips on getting all the oil/water out of the motor?

    i jsut rebuilt my motor, seals, gaksets, cams, nothing major. I think it's the timing but i want to see some other opinoins first

    I'm having problems with my engine. I can get it running but it has a crappy idle if i give it some gas and it pops when i try to accelerate. My guess is it's the timing but im' not sure. Thanks, joe

    Torque specs for an intake mani

    yeah i found a diagram on the web. When sealing the mani with rtv, do i put it around all the ports ontop of the gasket or do i do it on the block and seat the gasket to the rtv? I know where to put the rtv on the front and back of the motor but when i pulled my mani off the gasket stayed and...

    Torque specs for an intake mani

    Anyone konw the torque specs for a 302 intake mani. I'm leaking through the rear of my intake mani and i want to see if it's just not torqued down enough or if i'm going to have it take the mani off and re-seal it. Thanks, Joe

    yeah i was just told by a mechanic no starting fluid lol. When i have my car on accy. it sounds like a clicking coming from the dizzy. Kinda like a spark. Any ideas?

    solenoid was bad, replaced it, corrected the wiring and i have it turning over. GOtta wait till morning to get a oil dipstick and some starting fluid. Any info on starting a rebuilt engine?
