New SSBC brake conversion looks real nice...

These are not the clearest pics, cause it was awfully dark when I uncrated the parts. The only thing I don't like is the galvanized shields. They are covered with some sort of oily goo (to prevent rust, I suppose), but I will have to paint them. Also came with braided lines. Need more...

    Coil spring compressor questions

I was not concerned with the alignment, it just sort of fell into place. The arms are one short, one long on top and bottom. They allow for alignment to match the uneven curve of the spring. jim

    Coil spring compressor questions

Does your spring compressor look like this???? I think this is the best kind to use. You gotta wrench on it from under the hood, but it seems to stay in place really well. jim-

A console is born!!! Well, almost...

looks like you've got plenty of room for some large speakers on the sides (near your feet). I've seen this in other custom units and it looks good. Can you ever have too much loud music?

Seeking advice on disc brake conversion--

I like the idea of a complete kit for a front disc conversion- 66 'vert 351W. I'll have 15" wheels. Can anyone offer advice/opinions about SSBC, Baer or Wildwood? NPD sells the SSBC super duty kit w/ 11" slotted rotors, 4 piston calipers at $1395. The kit looks similar to Baer, but the Baer...

Front Disc or Mustang II upgrade THAT IS THE QUESTION

M II I've done quite a bit of research on the MII conversion and have decided against it. Have you ever seen a vintage stang for sale after the conversion? It may be a great set-up but seems to kill the value. I've followed a few on e-bay and two locally. There are many purists out there...

    Rear drum install questions...

Now that I'm done, did I do this right? Here's a picture of the right side, installed exactly like in my books.... Now here's the left side. I did not have any pics of the left side, so I installed it as shown here.... Notice that everything is just opposite. Did I do it right...

Where can I find this T-shaped bolt?

This came from the 8 inch rear on my 66. There are 4 on each side to hold the brake backing plate. One of mine was wrong and I'd like to get another. Any ideas where I could buy one. NPD does not carry them and the other large parts houses don't seem to list small parts like this...

Anyone running Rod & Custom MII coilover system? or offer advice?

I need basically everything replaced on my front end including brakes, springs, shocks, sway bar and all the rubber bits. Would also like to add power rack and pinion. Car will have a 351W. 66 'vert. Rod & Custom sells this complete kit that would involve major surgery, but it seems much...

    What trac-loc should I use?

I'll need to rebuild the 8" rear for my 66 'vert and would like some advice on which parts to use. This will be a street car w/ 351w and AOD. I'm thinking about 3.55 wth some sort of trac-loc. I'd like it to be as smooth as possible and don't want to feel or hear the mechanism ratchet in and...

    Is 8 enough?

I'm planning this motor for my 66 'vert. Car will be street driven, never raced. http://www.performanceparts.ford.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=5163 I've been getting conflicting opinions on whether my 8 inch rear is enough. I will be running an AOD and likely a 3.55 with...
