More header dillemas and a couple questions for anyone with Hooker Longtubes

I am from IL, but our OBD2 testing is lax enough that I can get away with not having cats so long as the monitor is disabled. My reason is that I'd like the car to be a bit quieter than it is now, and I assume headers will make it even louder, so I want cats to bring it back down a couple...

More header dillemas and a couple questions for anyone with Hooker Longtubes

Do you mean like the left header has it in the primary, he right has it in the collector, or vice cersa? Or do you mean each header has 2 bungs, one in the primary and one in the collector (which I would assume would be just to give you somewhere to stick the rear 02s)? If it's the latter, than...

More header dillemas and a couple questions for anyone with Hooker Longtubes

So then the 02 bungs are on the primary tube, not the collector? The pypes X pipe didn't need any modifiying, it fit just like it was made for them huh? Could you tell me if there is 9 inches of straight pipe to add cats behind the headers? Thanks for your help.

More header dillemas and a couple questions for anyone with Hooker Longtubes

I know a few people on here run these. I was just wondering a few things. One, is the oxygen sensor bung on the header collector, or on one of the primary tubes? I see images with it in both locations, so I am confused. I don't like the idea of an 02 sensor only reading from one cylinder...

    Which Headers?

Blakdout, did you use your Pypes offroad X with the hookers? Was it difficult to make it work? Do you have any pictures? And does it look like there's enough room to splice in some cats?

what mods do you have planned for this year?

I have 4.10s and BMR LCAs/Relocation brackets sitting in my room. Will be ordering longtubes next week and Bassani Race axleback week after. Then if I can scrape some money togher I'd like to replace my ugly ass wheels. All will be going on as soon as it gets nice out. May not be able to...

Anyone else shuttle their dogs around in their GT?

I'm not sure how I'd even get my dog into the back of my car (65 pound Husky). I take her around in my girlfriends Explorer. But if I absolutely had to I'd cram her n the Mustang. I care a lot about my car and like it clean, but Molly is a part of my family, so if she needs to get to the...

LS or HEMI motor in an 05+...any conversion parts out there???

Ever since before I bought my car I thought it'd be the pefect car if it had the S197 looks/interior with an LSX engine. But I wouldn't actually ever convert it, I'll just acknowlege the displacement disatvantage and make up for it with boost someday lol.

Longest driven distance (in miles) in your S197

I'm not sure which is further, but one of the two. Chicago to Lake Geneva, WI, Which I THINK is like 90-120 miles somewhere in there, and Chicago to Byron Dragway, which is like 90-95. SO Lake Geneva is probably the longest.

    ??? Coil on Plug Upgrade????

The factory coils have more than enough energy output. The only way you'd see a gain from an upgraded coil is if the current one wasn't providing complete combustion. ANd a factory coil is designed to operate under loads greater than anything you will ever put your ignition under. During...

Rear LCA install question, stock hardware

You can buy that greese anywhere, you just have to make sure you use silicon based greese, not petroleum, because it eats up polyurethane. They do say to not reuse torque to yield bolts/nuts, but in my opinion, it is find to reuse them once or twice, especially a bolt like that that doesn't...

    1968 Carger R/T SRT8...??

yeah your post isn't very informative. Is that a for-sale ad? Like someon said, it is probably a 68 Charger with a 6.1 Hemi. A LOT of people do that swap. It bolts right in to a smallblock K member, you can get TTI swap headers and a Mopar PCM to run it, and your good to go. Or what more...

    Strut Assemble Question

I'm not sure what bolts any of you are talking about. Unless you are calling nuts bolts. The strut mount will have 3 or 4 studs that go into holes int he top of the shock tower and are secured by nuts. No need to replace these nuts with new. Then there is one nut that screws onto the top of...

    Oil Change after storage

it'd probably be ok but I'd replace it, time does break down oil, and sitting in storage it might develop condensation as well.

ok so this is my S/C plan....

That would help, being able to monitor that. And it'd be easy as pie to install..

Limp home mode and odd code P061

a code should be 4 digits after the P... How many miles are on the car? Your o2 sensor theory is not likely, 02 faults usually won't cause a limp mode anyway. But the first thing I'd do is put the tune back to stock and see if the problem goes away.

    Emission's passing CATTED X PIPE..??

Everyone makes catted X pipes, Bassani does, Pypes does, I think BBK does, SLP does, I think Kooks does, plenty of them out there... Or for $150 you can buy a pair of pypes cats and make your X pipe catted.

    Sideport imposter vents

JC Whitney, Pep-Boys, Wal-Mart, Murrays, Autozone, basically any place that has a "ugly ricer **** to stick to my car" isle. If you put those on a Mustang I will personally find you and repossess your car.

    Accidental Oil Mix

Why'd you add oil to it? And why do you think it damaged it, because of the weight, or because it was synthetic? Either way, I would not worry one bit. The factory oil is synthetic blend, so it will be fine, and the weight difference won't hurt anything, especially not one quart.
