    low and high-end detonation

Are you running a lower octane? Has your timing been advanced? How many miles on the fuel filter?

    Wheel Spacers

I'm not a spacer fan for the unballanced pressure on the bearings. I'd be scared of high speed runs. But that's my opinion.

Troubleshooting My Tune after Vortech SQ install

Thanks White99. I'm staying out of boost. But hope to get this fixed soon. My motor is more precious than the blower. I appreciate the warning.

    Anyone else with oil consumption?

Try putting a flattened out cardboard box under your car as soon as you get home and check it in the morning for oil. I can't imagine how oil could make it into the shifter assembly. Wouldn't it dump out of the bell housing? If it's in the shifter assembly, your gear lube/tranny fluid has oil...

Troubleshooting My Tune after Vortech SQ install

It's a custom tune. Most of the guys suggested I NOT go with the Vortech tune, so I let the shop throw in the Superchip and do a dynotune for my stang.

Troubleshooting My Tune after Vortech SQ install

I'm going to call another shop in Clearwater... REAL SPEED PERFORMANCE and ask them a few questions about how they tune. They also do Vortech installations and dyno tunes. What main queations do you guys think I need to ask, aside of "Can you tune it right?"

Troubleshooting My Tune after Vortech SQ install

I'll gladly spend a few more bucks but only to fix this issue. I just don't want to lay out more cash for the aftercooler, until my stang is properly tuned without it. That's what the shop suggested. But I think it's all in the tune, like so many of you have said. But I'm good for the cash to...

Just how loud is your Tri-Ax?

When I re-installed my Triax, after noise issues, I decided to do it right. I guaged the stop bolts to 30 thou. I stretched the original base boot over the top of the triax. I placed the second boot on and the interior plate with shifter boot. I ditched that POS Triax shift lever and put...

Troubleshooting My Tune after Vortech SQ install

Yes. I left almost everything stock so I could get the Vortech gains they boasted. I want to mod as time goes on and funds are available though...

Troubleshooting My Tune after Vortech SQ install

I'll call the shop to get specs. After the dyno, the test run revealed ping/detonation. So they took some of the timing back out of it. I'm not sure where it stands now. BUT DAMN, I'm still getting preignition/ping, even after they took a bit of timing out of it. I went under the hood today...

No to the above. But I did gain some extra ping for free.:(

Troubleshooting My Tune after Vortech SQ install

The "complete" kit came with the 3.60 pulley, 38 pound injectors, new high flow fuel pump (in the kit), 90 degree intake assembly (with all hardeware and K&N filter), all brackets, hoses, clams. I don't know how much boost I'm getting and the installer didn't know either.

Troubleshooting My Tune after Vortech SQ install

I posted before with my dyno run chart. This thread also has my A/F chart. My car is a 2003GT 2V 4.6. Aside of the Vortech SQ, Superchip, weld in Flows and Triax, it's stock. I have NGK tr6's gapped at .035 and run only 93 Octane. My oil is synthetic and changed regularly. I run my car...

    Steeda Triax making noise-rattles

I had noise and vibrations too. It was just too annoying. I mounted all the stock boots, my stock shift lever to my Triax base, with my Steeda pistol grip and it's as quiet as can be.

MPH Mongoose Kit Or 1.7 Kenne bell N/I

If you're limited for cash, I say go with the Vortech system. If you have a couple extra bucks, get the aftercooler.

    Will I pass inspection

I agree. 50/50 isn't close to passing. Get the sure facts before inspec.

    Jerky Ride?

Are the tires a match for the rims? If the tires are oversized, they'll look like they're balloning bead and the lip of the rim. If that's the case, you could be getting tire roll also.

    Ouch!

Sorry man... Question...: Why the hell would you launch at 7000? The tires would surely light up, but how far PAST 7k were you intending on going? Once you let out the clutch, you would probably bounce up to seventy-BOOM, if you didn't destroy that rear end.
