NE1 have no cats and a reduction in power??

A guy told me today that taking the cats out would lower the back pressure too much and the turbo would lag horribly. Can anyone confirm this?? I though the less back pressure the better??... :bang:

NE1 put glasspacks on there SVO or GT turbo??

I am thinking about the Dynomax Race Bullets or the Summit Racing Equivelants. Anyone install these? How do they sound?? Loud or not?? I mean the car has a turbo, so the exhaust is quieted down alot anyway right?? The car is really quite now with the factory system. 1985.5 stock car...

sweet, 2005 Mustang wheels ! ! I guess I will have to check out the spacing on the new mustang. Those would look out of this world. Can anyone confirm?? I bet you could buy the GT wheels from an owner who wanted to add aftermarket rims for cheap and I think they are still 17 inches.

The 70Mach has a girlfriend now. Bought 85.5 SVO Saturday, need answers??..

What wheels will fit this car in a 17 incher?? The car is bone stock and has 39k on it. I am going to make it a concourse restoration since it has EVERYTHING straight from the dealer down to the dealer license plate frame, SVO audio tape, window sticker etc etc.... Anyway, I want the 17's...

That does sound low.. I just got my 85.5 Saturday and am having the exhaust redone (it has a crack before the mufflers.) It is bone stock and has 39k on it. I am going to dyno it right after the exhaust gets put on. It will have a 3" down pipe installed too, but be nothing but stock. I will...

1970 351C Dyno Numbers (you should all be interested in this)

Thanks for asking cfauvel. The latest numbers were 245 hp @ 4800 and 310 lb ft @ 3600. This is only 10 Hp peak higher than before the re-jet but it was 10 hp almost everywhere in the curve. And from 4800 to 5100 I had gains as high as 25 at the wheels. The 10 Hp I gained from 1500 to 3500...

New Jets In Place ! ! Huge difference I put in the 72's in place of the 69's on the primary and 75's in place of 68's in the secondary. This was recommened to me by the dyno tuner from last week. Holy sh@#$#@$. This car is wicked fast now. It feels like 25 to 35 more horses on the...

1970 351C Dyno Numbers (you should all be interested in this)

I think you are confused. The stock PV in the Holley 670 Avenger is 6.5. That means is takes 6.5 in of vacuum to open. Not that it opens at 6.5in Hg. If you have an 8.5, then that is really stiff. Feel the spring difference between a 3.5 and an 8.5 The 8.5 will have a much higher spring...

1970 351C Dyno Numbers (you should all be interested in this)

Reply to paintballtommy about power valves. Good technical info Your power valve selection should be computed as follows. Take you initial vacuum reading at idle. Let's say it is 12 like mine. Now divide by 2 and that should be your power valve reading. So you power valve should open at 6...

1970 351C Dyno Numbers (you should all be interested in this)

The new dyno numbers are in ! Closure at last. Here are the results of the dyno second dyno. I compared the dyno info from 3 weeks ago to this info. The X pipe made a huge difference. Huge. So huge, that we couldn't fully re-dyno the car. That is because the air/fuel ratio became so...

Does anyone run white letters out anymore?

Run white letters out if you have 60 series or higher tires. I have 15 inch 65 series on Magnum 500's letters out. If you run a low profile tire, the letters out looks funny or may not even be an option. Ohhh, and you guys can clean your white letters with White Lightening (available at...

1970 351C Dyno Numbers (you should all be interested in this)

My engine builder says that the HUGE ports of the Cleveland 4V are too big and in fact the 2V heads actually flow better and can make more power everywhere. I installed the INTAKE MPG port plates. My engine builder HIGHLY recommended it. He said he has dyno tuned about 12 cleveland and Boss...
