    Hatch cover retaining clip? Where to find

    Hey guys, on the cover in the back of a hatch that rolls up or down to hide your stuff back there, what is the name of the the plastic little clips on each side that holds em in place? Anyone know where to find em? I broke myn a while back, and would really like to have my cover working again...

    scratched cylinder bore

    If it catches your fingernail it's pretty much a thousanth plus scratch, and a hone will come very far from that. A hone may remove a couple tenths of a thousanth.

    I'm expecting some damage to be done to the gears if thats the case, but hopefully since it wasn't driven much since it was done maybe a little massaging will help.

    All gears but 5th or reverse are new or were very slightly used. New countershaft is also in. The synchro teeth on my old gears were what was really chewed up, but new gears only helped the problem so I must have missed something. A rebuild kit from astro was used, along with a steel bearing...

    The guy above got it covered pretty good. Strongly consider the shortblock, 3 months after my h/c/i I was going right back through it to do the bottom half. Which was not fun at all man.

    Sounds internal inside the transmission to me. Shifter doesn't have much to do with it.

    Agreeing with foxfan. There is no possible way to build pressure inside of something if it has more space to use before it is completely filled. Basic physics. Very interesting explanations from him though, I think I learned something today. :D

    How much and where to get a 5th gear gearset?

    Haven't popped her open. I was just curious in case I did need a gearset. 5th had a couple chipped teeth when assembled but they were 2 fairly small chunks on the big gear. Just had me concerned. My primary guess is the roll pin.

    5th gear is out on my tranny, didn't make any noise, just nailed a hard bump going accross a bridge doing well above the speedlimit and it was like mashing the clutch in.     R-12 alternatives.. has anyone used this?

    The r-12 alternative stuff works great to top a system off with r-12, but not to completly fill a system. Switch to 134 if you drain it. I don't think you need to change anything at all really anymore to do the switch now. You used ot have to do o-rings and other misc items.

    oil pump shaft broken

    If you stopped it right away idling in your driveway I wouldn't say there would be a great deal of damage. My motor's bearings were more wore out than damaged (none spun) and I noticed myn had no oil pressure AFTER I was doing donuts slamming it off the limiter.

    I wouldn't have though a tfs1 cam would be enough to cause some issues. You sure you didn't pinch the booster line? I got mine in a bind and had to eventually use a 90* plastic fitting to make it work right.

    Our brains must click on a little different gear set, as I enjoy watching it from time to time, but it can get boring and drawn out sometimes, especially during the lonnnng green flag runs where everyone spreads out. It's all good though. :)

    We put our master cylinders in a table vise plugged up and work the air out by hand before installing.

    How can it not be racing if your competing against other cars to finish first? I also fail to understand the circle driving thing too as road courses are nothing more than mangled up circles or ovals.

    OIL PRESSURE BUT NO OIL ON ROCKERS AND ROCKER TICKING = ?

    My oil pump locked up going on a year ago now which snapped the oil pump shaft and done the exact same thing. She'll run but you hear the top end just clacking away from lack of oil.

    You could run and drive the car with those injectors, but that setup needs a 24lb injector.
