    Any primer/paint recommendations?

Well, I wanted to get (the body) at least stripped and at least primed before I go BACK to Iraq (Trip 3). Will it be OK to let the car sit in epoxy primer for 3 or 4 months while gone? Hate to leave it as is, and hate to come back and have a rusted body. I live in FL, and things go bad quick.

    Any primer/paint recommendations?

I'm getting ready to get my coupe media blasted. When it's all cleaned up, what kind of epoxy (etch) primer do I use? POR 15 I hear is the ****nit, but, do you have to prime over it? Any alternative to POR 15? Then, what kind of paint do I look for? My car is in great shape, and I'm...

    US Navy Catch & Release

Why waste a Honda on him? I'd just strap the catapult to his bunghole and launch him off the bow! Go to Allah via the Fast Lane! :flag:

    Rotisserie Recommendations Needed.

Also try (as of today) page 3, under: "Body Weight-Coupe", there's a dude in there with everything you'd need. He was a huge help.

1968 GT fastback or Porsche 911?

SELL IT! To me. I live in NW Florida. I got first dibs, right! Dude, KEEP THAT CAR, I sold a 67 Fastback because of the same reasons, ( and military necessity) and am still kicking myself. I had to "settle" for a replacement 67 Coupe, which is about 10 times worse shape. DO NOT SELL IT!

    want to shave drip rails

Sorry to "hijack", but, does the drip rail actually serve as some sort of reinforcement for the car? I plan to hack mine off as well, and was going to install subframe connectors anywho, but, that's kinda nice to know...

Remember that 68 fastback with a peiced together 66 front end I almost bought?

Yeah bro, that's too bad there's some low life out there, putting out a crap product, and feeding on weak prey who don't know any better than "I really wish I had a fastback". Heckuva way to make (rob) a paycheck...I gotta go to body school:) :nonono:

Remember that 68 fastback with a peiced together 66 front end I almost bought?

OK, you hooked me! What's it look like? Got any pics? That's pretty jacked up! Hate to be the dude who bought it. Wonder if he "always wanted a Mustang" and bought the first POS with a shiny paint job, or knew exactly what he was getting into. $4,000 sez no!

    Body weight (coupe)

Holy crap!!! That's exactly what I want! How did you do it? What kind of stands-regular 750lb engine? How did you mount the car, especially the back? Oh, just out of curiosity, how big is your garage-mine's 22x22. Any pics of the mountings would help BIGTIME! Thanks

    Body weight (coupe)

Hey, I'm in the process of restoring my 67 Coupe and wanna build my own rotisserie for media blasting, welding, and other rust repair. Does anyone know how much JUST the body weighs? No body panels, wiring, glass, brake lines, etc. This girl is GUTTED. Damn this stuff is too expensive to pay...

Is Sandblasting going to damage my car?

Do not let them go over 90 PSI, or they'll warp the panels. Also, try to get some photos, or phone numbers of people who have had their cars blasted. Ounce of prvention, a pound of cure...

    Request Media Blasting Info

Yeah, There's a guy about 7 1/2 hours away near Tampa that can do it, but, the price is the same, and I've heard horror stories of that stuff rearing it's ugly head and ruining paint. I guess it's a gamble either way, as I'm sure plastic media will be falling outta by coupe for the next 20 years!:)

    Request Media Blasting Info

Yeah, but w/ the shipping prices these days...still beats $2500 and change

    Request Media Blasting Info

Hey I was gonna send my car to a guy to get rotisserie mounted & media blasted & etch primered for about $2500, but, the closer I get to it, It doesn't sound like such a good deal. ABout 4 years ago a dude would do it for $400 (w/out primer). I live in NW Florida, and don't mind driving a ways...
