    Intake hose help

Here is a pic of that tree i think you are talking about. That bottom hose running from the far left of the intake is the one that goes to the pcv right? If you look at where it goes onto the intake, you can see another hose coming from that same piece going further under the intake. My...

I cant seem to get the freaking things unhooked. The tools I have (came in a pack of 6, but I could only find pics of 2) look like the ones at the very top of the page, beside the google icon fuel tool Are these what I need to get off the fuel lines along the lower intake??? I have...

    lifter/cam install

hmmmmm that doesnt sound good either lol. any way to check and make sure thats what it is? would installing a new set of springs take care of that? Im heading to an auto fair this weekend that supposedly has awesome prices for parts. The way its looking, I may need to get a set of valve...

    lifter/cam install

Engine is bone stock except for k&n and pulleys. I have been told by a couple shops that its more than likely my lifters. I hear it first thing when the car starts up, then after its warmed up its pretty quiet until I hit it off an exit ramp, or hit it to pass someone on the hw. Its an auto...

    lifter/cam install

Couple of quick questions. I have noisy lifters above 4500 rpms. Ive been told installing a new set of lifters will cure my ails. I have also heard that if I install the new lifters, I should install a new cam as well. Is this true, or can I simply install new lifters with the stock cam...

    Waiting on the UPS man

The kit comes with all gaskets/hoses except the ones for the heads. I ordered those as well. thats a good idea about the bolts to hold the gaskets in place. I was going to put beads here and there of sealant to hold them in place while I put on the lower, but your idea sounds more sturdy :nice:

    Waiting on the UPS man

awesome guys, thanks :nice: This is my first major wrenching exercise lol. Ive had the upper off before, but never the lower. I just want to do as much work as I can on my 5.0. They are a bit easier to work on than the modulars imo. I plan on taking it up to the shop after the install...

    Waiting on the UPS man

I figured as long as I dont have to remove the distributor I dont need to worry about TDC. It should be possible to do the install without taking off the distributor right???

    Waiting on the UPS man

Its from GEFRacing.com. They normally only sell FRPP and legit parts, so I hope its the real thing. So no one found TDC before installing their intakes???

    Waiting on the UPS man

Just ordered my Cobra upper and lower intake. Hoping to have it mid next week. Anything tricky to look for when installing it? Anyone know of a good write up by chance? Also, do I need to find TDC before I get going with the install, Ive heard people say yay and nay. :flag:

    Which CAI would you buy?

Took my g/f's car to the shop to get the gears installed which was the very first mod she did to the car. With the chip in hers and a slight tune she was putting down 226 at the wheels. We threw a K&N on it and it jumped to 231 at the wheels. Ive seen it happen on the dyno is all Im saying...

    Which CAI would you buy?

Yep, CAI's are worthless... The actual piping may not be worth a crap, but no one will deny that simply changing the air filter will give you 5-7hp. Hence why I dont see how everyone thinks they are worthless. Most CAI's come with a K&N or good aftermarket air filter. I...

    GT to Mach 1?

Ehhhh, gears are expensive, no 2 ways about it. You need the gears ~$150, youll then need someway to recalibrate the speedo. You can do a speedcal, around $100 extra, or you can do a chip ~$350-$450 with a good tune. BUT WAIT... we arent done yet :D. You also need them installed. A good...
