X pipe question / cats or no cats ?

I went with the catted x-pipe after purchasing an O/R X and returning it. I really don't like the crackling the O/R pipes produce upon deceleration and the smell of an O/R pipe is not pleasant on a daily driver (especially on a convertible). Also, the small amount of back-pressure the catted...

Help me analyze some 1/4 mile times guys!

I'm not sure what the car weighs in at, but I weigh in at 225:D And yes I do have the big mach 1000 sound system in the trunk with 4 amps, amp rack, and two subs (thats gotta be heavy!) I just hate to start ripping stuff out:shrug:

Help me analyze some 1/4 mile times guys!

Whats wrong with the C&L stuff?? From the dyno numbers I've seen, even the accufab plenum and throttle body is only good for about 7 rwhp according to the dyno tests on modular depot. Everyone else (dragon, professional products, C&L) were good for like 5 to 6 rwhp. But, I know that jackie chan...

Help me analyze some 1/4 mile times guys!

Thanks for all of the info guys, the 1/8 mph wasn't printing correctly on the time slip so I really don't know the mph at that point. As for the times of those two runs, they were back to back 8:45pm and 9:03pm. I was letting the car shift itself at 5750 (1-2 shift), and 5600 (2-3 shift) and...

Help me analyze some 1/4 mile times guys!

Went to test and tune last night and really didn't run too well. It was a big night for the pro-mod cars, and one of the lanes was really well prepped and the other lane was *****! My first two runs were horrible, so I just watched for about an hour and they did some work on the crappy lane and...

Modifications to stock converter (kinda long read)

I went with the highest settings on the j-mod. They say once you add a higher stall converter that it kinda takes away from the shift firmness so they recommended that I go with the largest openings in the separater plate to begin with since I am thinking of going with another converter. It's...

Modifications to stock converter (kinda long read)

Got my car back this afternoon. They did the j-mod to the valvebody. Makes it shift much better and firmer even with the pressure backed down on my diablosport. The j-mod along with the 4.10s has really brought the car to life. Still trying to decide what to do with the converter, I get a lot of...

Modifications to stock converter (kinda long read)

Well, the shop I mentioned previously is doing my valve-body today. This way I will get a chance to gauge their work and talk to them personally about converter options. I'll let you know what I decide. By the way, like I mentioned these guys primarily drag race and have this shop to support two...

    New Dyno Numbers!

What are your best times now? I recently went with the tubular set-up up front from UPR also. I'm pleased so far. My car is also an auto and I am in the process of getting the 4.10s, aluminum rear end girdle, and shift kit (j-mod) done this week. After that, I will be thinking about converters...

Modifications to stock converter (kinda long read)

I don't know, I mean a good precision industries converter with the lock-up feature can run anywhere from $750 to $1000 dollars. I just seems kinda logical to start with a well made factory converter and make the necessary changes from there and end up with a quality piece at a fraction of the...

Modifications to stock converter (kinda long read)

Modifications to stock converter??? I have a question about torque converter work. There is a local transmission shop that specializes in custom torque converters. The guys there seem very knowledgable and I am considering letting them do some work for me. I enquired about a custom built...

Finally got my trans-cooler installed (couple of questions?)

Yea, its for my 04'. My avatar is of my last stang, a 94 GT. Just can't make myself delete that old picture eventhough the car is long gone.

Finally got my trans-cooler installed (couple of questions?)

I asked another guy at the parts store about the difference between mercon III and V and he said that basically the V was a higher grade that has better properties like heat resistance etc. He didn't think it was a big deal since I added such a small amount, but I am going to call in the morning...

Finally got my trans-cooler installed (couple of questions?)

Well, finally got the trans cooler installed on my 04' GT. I had purchased it from Steeda awhile ago, but could never get anyone to put it on for me so I just did it myself. Anyhow, I used one of the provided fittings to go into the radiator and ran hose from that fitting to the trans cooler and...

UPR K member kits....good or bad?

I just purchased their kit with the tubular a-arms, k-member, and coil overs. It was very well made. I'm happy with it so far, but only had it for a couple of days.

    Which headers?

Just a few questions about headers for all you seasoned bolt-on guys. I have an 04' vert with all the basic bolt-ons except headers and I am thinking about going with a set of shorties. I already have a UPR catted x-pipe and I also have a full tubular K-member up front, so I am hoping that will...

    Calling all torque converter guys!

Thanks for all the info guys! I will check in to some of the links recently posted. As to my screen name and avatar, I joined this board several years ago when I got my first mustang. It was a 94 GT also with an auto trans. My avatar is a picture of that original car. Sorry for any confusion...

    Calling all torque converter guys!

Well, I checked with my local aamco and they said it would cost roughly $300.00 to install a new converter. Not too bad I guess, but it seems like most people prefer the Precision Industries converters which seem to run roughly $750.00. So I guess I would be looking at about $1000.00 dollars...

    Calling all torque converter guys!

I'm just wondering about a few things when it comes to torque converters: 1. How much would a shop (like an aamco) charge to install a new converter? 2. How are they on the street? 3. And what can you expect as far as a drop in ET? Thanks!!!

    Thoughts on UPR X pipe?

I have the UPR catted x-pipe. I am very pleased with it! The reason I chose the catted version is because of the raspy tone and popping noises that the O/R pipes make, especially when you let off the gas. Also, the smell of gas at a stoplight isn't up my alley. The guys at UPR are great though...
