    biggest slick

They are the ET Streets, we measured them and they were like 9.25in. But yeah.. I missed the part about the Pony wheels, they're right don't go 10.5 on that rim, lol. My brother has his on Draglites.

    biggest slick

My bro just put on 26x10.5 Mickeys on his 87, fits fine. _________________________________ Man, your mods are almost identical to mine except for the gear ratio. Cool stuff! I havn't gotten to run mine at the track yet, what kinda times you turning?

    Which T5 shifter to buy?

I had a Pro 5.0 in my car when I bought it and didn't like it... the handle at least, too short for me. I know short throw is good but I had to lean over to shift into 3rd. It also had a messed up spring and Pro 5.0 wouldn't send or sell me a replacement. I switched to the UPR Blue Thunder...

    cam, intake, inj. match?

What is your goal for the car? What type of driving to be used for... street, strip? If you go to one of the intakes with real short runners like the Victor you're going to have a lot less low end but conversely a higher RPM range. I'd say go with the Holley Systemax II, TrickFlow TrackHeat...

    question on AFR165 heads

I noticed a night and day difference but I did the 165s, intake, cam, injectors, fuel pump, 75mm Pro-M, 65mm TB, long tubes all at once. I really didn't want to notch the pistons and I kinda felt like the 2.02 valves were a little big anyways. The piston to valve clearance was four...

Went to track tonight,,need your help

I'm with Scholdes, I think 5400 RPM is too high of a shift point for your engine. Back when my 5.0 was mostly stock I had my best times shifting at 5000 RPM (I have a T-5), I actually had worse times when I shifted at 5500 RPM. I'd say go thru the gears manually with your auto if you know...

Broken AFR165 valve spring - wtf??

Sheit, that stinks man. I have 165's myself and I have had them to 6000RPM+ several times on the springs that come with the heads and no problems. I do plan to upgrade to some heavier springs this winter though, maybe double springs.

    elecric fan

Are a lot of your stock radiator fins flattened? An aluminum radiator would help... you can find decent ones for a fair price, I picked up my 28" AFCO for $190. I couldn't believe how skinny the stock radiator was when I pulled it out, it was like half the thickness I expected it to be...

    T-5...synthetic or GM synchromesh?

Hmm... My brother and I both have been using the blended synchromesh for about a year and we both race. I havn't experienced any adverse effects from using it. Shifts easier under power. My tranny has 150k on it and my bro's is a T-5Z and has only used syncho in it. It's wives tales and...

    Future reference for AFR heads...

I just put that pipe that was screwed into the stockers back on and plugged the end where it comes out on the passenger side. It was free.

Help me pick some nice valve covers! need help with clearance etc. show me yours :)

I see you already made you purchase but for anyone else who pulls up this thread, I went with these Moroso Budget Eliminator Valve covers... great fit, solid construction, chromed, they have MOROSO raised lettering on the top which isn't a big deal to me considering the price.

    Got my Mega-Bite Jr.'s / Installation Tips?

How did you put the springs in? You use a spring compressor or did you set the springs in place and use a jack to lift one end of the arm to the mounting hole?

    Blue lights in the airfilter?

351, Buy some of the mirrors that you slide underneath the car to show the detail of the undercarriage, I always like that at carshows. But really man, it's a Mustang, you don't need no damn lights... Thats like a chick with double D's wearing a push-up bra, just not needed!

    Got my Mega-Bite Jr.'s / Installation Tips?

Like the titles says... I got my HPM Mega-Bite Jr.'s FINALLY from Motorsport Depot. Don't order from there unless you don't need your parts anytime soon, it took me almost 3 weeks to get them after I placed the order. :notnice: Anyway, some folks that have installed these or a similar LCA...

    Longtube Headers Bringing Many Problems

I have a set of Flowtech longtube headers that use the same type of installation, all you have to do is go to the parts store and get a tube of the exhaust sealer. You smear a good bead around where the sections go together and it shouldn't leak... if it does leak it won't be as bad as if you...

    Blue lights in the airfilter?

LED's, Lights, glowing air filters... Sorry I must be on the wrong forum. :rlaugh: If your car is nice enough to be in a show then you don't need that crap.

Mark VIII Fan users, stop in...

Electric fans aren't meant to run constantly, especially a hog like the mk8 fan. They're meant for "on-demand" use. I'd say wire in a rocker switch until you can get a temp. control, save that relay from burning up. I had a hokey temp. control from Jegs, goofy piece but it worked and it was...

    Belt squeal

I just solved a belt squeal problem yesterday on my car... the alternator pulley was just too small for the belt I guess... when I started the car and when I turned on my elec. fan it would squeal so it was easy to tell it was the alt. I just changed to a pulley that was about 1/4in larger...

    best radiator for the money?

I have an AFCO too, great aluminum radiator... Looks good, lightweight, cools like a mofo. :nice: The 28 inch in the Ford configuration fits great in the fox body, you can use the stock radiator brackets with a little modification. My brother has the 19''x31'', it's a bit too long for the...
