    Transmission problem

Not on my stang, but my dad's 98 F150. I don't know much about automatic transmissions, so I was hoping for some general advice. In park, there is no noise. When it shifts to reverse or drive, there is a rattle from the transmission area. Almost sounds like a little piece of metal rattling...

    Gt to Cobra Brakes.

That is where I bought mine. Didn't need anything more than the kit for the front brakes, but i did invest in some speed bleeders. Amazing little things.

    Doing my brakes today.

Yea, did that several times. I'm just going to have to leave the stock line on until I can think of a better idea.

    Doing my brakes today.

Of course, went out and bought the flare wrenches. One of the nuts still gets rounded. WTF. Any advice? One of the corners of the nut is pretty rounded and I can't get the thing to budge. Other side went fine.

    Doing my brakes today.

Cobra rotors/calipers and rear pads(first time ive done that) So I figure I might as well start a thread now, since every time I do any work I need to ask 15 questions before I'm through. First question...is there an easier way to get these pushnuts off of the rotor than the needlenose...

    Got my Cobra brakes today.

Thanks guys. How is a flare wrench different than a regular open ended wrench? My toolbox isn't that extensive.

    Got my Cobra brakes today.

Not installed, just received the box. Installing next weekend. There was a slip of paper in the box that recommended painting the "hat" portion of the rotor with high temp paint to prevent corrosion I think. What is the "hat" portion and should I paint it?

Changing brake pads: Do you turn the rotors?

Thanks. Looks like the same kit but cheaper. How much better are the cobra brakes vs the GT? Is it significant? Only noticeable in racing type situations?

Changing brake pads: Do you turn the rotors?

I think it's time for me to change out my pads on my car finally. Will be a first time project for me. But then I realized that I hadn't put anything new on my car in over a year and I just got a tax refund. What do you guys think of this kit here with the Brembo rotors...

    Need some advice...rear end problem

Two weekends ago I changed my rear end fluid for the first time. Threw in nearly two bottles of royal purple, minus spillage. I had trouble really making sure that there was enough fluid in there. I would stick my pinky in, and it would come back covered in oil, but I wasn't really sure I...

    Changing Diff Fluid

Thanks for the post DT. Since my original post and now, my dad has gone and picked up a little drill pump connects to a hand drill. I figure it would be easier to just suck the oil out rather than remove the diff. cover. I'm switching to Royal Purple synthetic...think there will be any...

    Changing Diff Fluid

None of the local auto parts stores stock differential cover gaskets...can I just use form-a-gasket? Neither the shop manual or bullittarchive mentions a gasket, but it is listed as a part, so i figured i'd at least look for it.

    Striped-down Wiring Harness Needed...

I know that wire harness dieting is something that a lot of people do when building factory five roadsters using mustang donor cars. You might be able to get some good help at the www.ffcobra.com message boards. There is a 4.6L board, and several vendors that sell wire harnesses like you're...

    Question regarding power source

i don't know how long it would take for this to drain the battery, but yes, the cigarette adapter is still on when the ignition is off. when i hooked up my xm radio, i decided i didn't want to unplug it every time i left the car. instead, i bought a cigarette adapter from radio shack and...

    chin spoiler installed... uhh.. ok?

if i remember correctly, there were already a few holes on my bumper when i decided to put the chin spoiler on. they lined up with holes on the spoiler, but i didn't think 3 push rivets were anywhere near enough to hold it, so i drilled about 10 more holes.

    Tire Question

I need to get new tires for the first time and I'm looking for some advice. I have the stock 17" rims, and I'm wondering if I should go with 245 again, or can/should I put some wider tires on there? I can't go with drag radials because it's my daily driver in the northeast, but any suggestions...
