    Oil Galley Plug Blew Out

Also I am talking about the press in kind, not the threaded ones.

    Oil Galley Plug Blew Out

I did use sealant. I would also like to note that I did prime the system using a drill drive and I didn't find anything odd. The oil seemed to make it to everything it should have.

    Oil Galley Plug Blew Out

So finally after many questions and much research I had finished building my 289. I built a test stand, checked everything and hit the starter button. After a little trouble shooting and some tuning she would fire up with not even a half turn of the starter. She sounded sweet. During my...

I Need the Drivers Side A-Pillar Drip Rail from a 65/66

Thanks 2+2 I've got it coming. By the way I have to give you a big thanks for all the help you've given me during this build. And everyone else that has helped, its just I think you have posted on every one of my threads. So thanks again.

I Need the Drivers Side A-Pillar Drip Rail from a 65/66

I already posted this in the WTB section, but its kind of an odd part so I would just like to ask here also. I need the drivers side drip rail from a 1965/66 a-pillar. Mine was ruined. I don't need the molding, just the rail itself. If someone has the whole a-pillar from a parts car I will take...

    Opinions on Engine Breather Systems

I would like some opinions on engine breathers systems. Is setting a PCV system worth it? Should I go with the standard breathers or set up a PCV system? My concerns are about engine life and cleanliness, in the bottom end and the intake.

    Checking Pushrod Length

So a solid lifter will have the same geometry as a pumped hydraulic lifter? I have a comp cams checking tool. What type of sprigs would you recommend for checking it and where would I get them?

    Checking Pushrod Length

I have been reading how-to's on checking pushrod length and I just want to double check things. I have hydraulic lifters in my car. I can't check length with them because they are flat. So I have to get a solid lifter to take its place while checking. How am I sure that the solid lifter will...

Distributors - I'm kind of stumped

At the moment the build is mostly stock. I've got a High Energy cam kit, and AirGap intake. Other then that the rest is stock. Stock heads, carb, rotating assem. (polished rods). I do plan on changing out the heads after the car is finished, but right now I'm just trying to keep it cheap. I have...

Distributors - I'm kind of stumped

I like the advice so far. One more question then. Is there a difference between an early 289 and late 289 distributor? I don't mind doing a little refurbishing on an old one, and I can alway upgrade later. But I'm not sure if I can just look for any 289/302 distributor, or if I should worry...

Distributors - I'm kind of stumped

I currently have no distributor to use, so in your opinions what would be my best route. Should I look for a used stock one, a Summit stock replacement, an aftermarket upgrade? Also what does curving to match mean?

Distributors - I'm kind of stumped

Ok, I'm wondering how I go about choosing a distributor. Am I making them out to be more complicated then they are? Is there some formula to it? I've got a 289, slightly modified but still running stock heads.

    Pulleys and Brackets

I'm running alt, water pump, and A/C. I was just looking at a stock v-belt set of March pulleys.

    Pulleys and Brackets

So a standard March pulley and bracket kits should work fine then?

    Pulleys and Brackets

So I'm trying to figure out what I want to do about pulleys and I have a few questions. My engine came with a 3 groove crank pulley and no belts. What are they all for? As far as I know I have the alt, water, and AC. I figured the alt and water pump both use the same belt. Which leaves another...

Sharing My Project - 1965 Mustang GT

I started this project when I was 15/16 years old. Its hard telling just when it all got going because it was around 10 years ago. Yup, I've been working on this car for 10 years and its only this far. Everyday life mixed with being a kid, going to school, and side projects have kept it from...

    65' Stang with a 68' Shelby Hood

Now that I see that 67' style in a finished condition I'm liking it. Does anyone have some good advice on where to get one thats good quality?

    65' Stang with a 68' Shelby Hood

Does anyone have pictures of a 65 Mustang with a 68 shelby hood? I found a few searching on google but none have been finished, they are all just a gel coat hood thrown on a car so you get an idea of what it looks like. I would like to see what a nice finished version looks like.

    Harmonic Balancer Problem

I didn't realize it until after the engine was together. It needs to either be a smaller diameter or have a bit of a step in it. If tightened it would protrude right into the timing cover. Not by much, but more then could be ground off. The stock has a step in it, but I figured because it was a...
