"Paint your car for 50 bucks" I am going to try it.

Learned something important. After my last 2 coats, the glossiness had sort of gone away and the surface was looking flat. Too much thinner. I modified the mix to test it and added more thinner to paint ratio to see if it would level better. It leveled great but the shine was gone...

Good question. I just sort of leveled out the paint as it had texture on it. Not to the bare metal.

"Paint your car for 50 bucks" I am going to try it.

Hoping that won't be an issue. I keep the car in the garage and only drive it a few times a year. no AC and I am in Texas so there are only about 3 or 4 weeks a year it is really comfortable to have out. And just to clarify... It's $7.00 paint :)

So I have read all of the threads about painting your car w/ a can of rustoleum and I have to give it a shot. I have setup a website to document my progress and I will take lots of high quality photos so folks can get an idea of wether this will really work or not and what realistically...

    My starter solenoid melted

Hot goes from battery to solenoit, and then on the polor popposite of the solenoid, is a wire that goes to the ground (engine) The thick black wire on the right on the back of the solenoid is the ground. It melted right through and became detached

    question about wheels

OK, so just to follow up, That protrusion which is only about a quarter inch.... The wheel does not need to fit around that snugly? I had assumed that like the front wheels, there needed to be something more than just the lug nuts to secure the wheel in place.

    question about wheels

I guess my question boils down to this. If I buy aftermarket wheels. Say I get 16's . They should be designed to fit the larger roter that the new disc brakes use. That takes care of the front of the car. Now these new wheels will not fit on the rear because the hub hole will be too large...

I did the exact same thing twice and both times, the wires in the blinker looked fine and both times there was smoke. Turns out it was the horn that was smoking. Look at that dics that the horn "springy things" (technical term) rotate against. see if the copper is damaged. Like I said...

    65 gauge cluster removal...

I had the same issue when rewiring my dash. I was able to reach my arm up under the dash by laying on my back with my head in the floor and reaching up behing the cluster and unscrewing the speedo cable by hand from the cluster.
