    Auto to Manual

I didn't realize that you touched it! When I said personally, I just meant the personal charisteristics of the driver as to what kind of driving that they tend to adhere towards. I have a habit of buying the Tach needle into redline (slightly) before I push my slapstick to hit the next gear...

    Auto to Manual

I'd like to say that if you do a lot of changing of parts to your engine, trying to get the power you're looking for, it's easier to just change your personal shift points when you get on it with a manual instead of manually setting them in an automatic for future use. Im dropping one in on...

    The price of a 70Stang...

I've gotta agree 100%. With clearcoat/dent removal (minor as they would be)/COMPLETE rust removal and all maintenance work recorded you could try to push for $6000 as a top quality restored turn key driver. Beautiful car man. :nice:

O.K. forget fixing the FMX. Will a C4 bolt up the same?

Ah, lemme think..... If the coolant passages are good and clear, the cast iron case doesn't have broken bolt holes and the casing isn't excessivly rusted (salt roads and humid climates tend to do that) then how about..........100 plus cost of shipping W.O. the...

O.K. forget fixing the FMX. Will a C4 bolt up the same?

I'd only need the transmission itself and not the bellhousing and the extension housing. That would help reduce weight unless you would rather get rid of the unit as a whole. What kind of mileage would it happen to have? I'd pay what it's worth to you if I have no other options finding a...

O.K. forget fixing the FMX. Will a C4 bolt up the same?

Bah, scrub the C4 idea then. Maybe i'll get lucky at the junkyard and find an old F-150 with 60,000 miles wrecked, although finding a transmission like that with under 150,000 miles won't be easy to dig up. Im guessing the FMX runs along the lines of a C6 huh? I thought that there wasn't...

O.K. forget fixing the FMX. Will a C4 bolt up the same?

I ran a post yesterday about my FMX troubles. I have a mildly worked up 351w with the original FMX and it seems to be slipping. Can a C4 simply bolt up in the same place as the FMX without any changes or modifications? If not, what's required?

    driveline noise

First gear only eh... Could be the clutch isn't engaged fully in first, worn out cog in transmission, worn out driveline (easy fix with new pins) couldn't give you a gaurantee on an answer.

Cabin gettin warm, Tranny tunnel hot. FMX slippage?

Been driving my '70 for a while now, but shifts are taking longer then they used to (and getting worse over time) in order to from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. Checked fluid, looks clean. Filled up to the EXACT level in the dip line. Transmission is leaking fluid over time. I thought it...

    Is this possible?

Hmm, Walnut creek. Not too far from here... Anyway, perhaps a brand new '05 is a bit cost prohibitive for a 16 year old......yet I wish you all the best in obtaining what you strive to achieve. To the most dedicated of those go the richest of spoils. Bolting a 7 psi blower to a 96 cobra...

    Electric Smog pump troubles

For the first time since I've had the '97 Cobra, I ran a diagnostic through the OBD-II to see what the check engine light was about and I couldn't make sense of the problem. Says "Code:4011 SAI Upstream Flow Error". I disconnected the wiring to the pump, re-tried, then it gave me "Code:4012...

To possibly sell the Cobra and/or the '70.....what to do.....?

Ok. I figured this would be the best place to lay this out (if I get a response) so maybe the input here will help me make the right decision. Give me all of what you guys want to say. I was in tech school (USAF) when I had come across a great deal on a 97 cobra approx. 8 months ago with...

Really Frustrated at Brake Calipers on my '97

Spring clips....... :nonono: How could I forget. When removing the old pads, I do remember them having clips on both ends. The pads just didn't come with any. I'll see what NAPA can dig up on them. Thanks.
