    No way that flows 1000 cfm. I am very familiar with K&N filters, and have experimented with probably 20 different sizes in my various vehicle. I'd say that flows about 300-500 cfm max. Email K&N with the part number, they are pretty good about releaseing their CFM numbers if you ask.

    What does tune have to do with it? You make it sound like the 96-98 were not correctly tuned. They are tuned appropriatly for the components they have. 99+ are not tuned better, they are just tuned for the components they have, which are better. Its a component issue, not a tune issue.
