Engine wont start after cam/head swap

I still have my old distributor laying on the workbench with points still in and set. I'll throw that in and check too. Can I be 180 out if I stop and stab the dist. when I feel the air blow out the spark plug hole? This only happens on the compression stroke, correct? I plan to call comp...

Engine wont start after cam/head swap

I moved the distributor as far as I could either way until the vacuum advance stopped to from going any further to see if I could get any better results and it didnt sound any different either way. I advance by turning CW and retard by going CCW correct? I thought it may have been a...

Engine wont start after cam/head swap

Now that I think about it I had my firing order going CW rather than CCW when I checked to see if I was 180* out. I'll check again as soon as I get a chance with the firing order correct. This is a possibility. The couple of backfires I got through the intake were pretty random. When it does...

    EFI Parts - Mass Air

A couple years ago I collected most of the parts to do add Fuel Injection to my classic. I have since decided to stick w/ the carb. I have a "new" reman Computer (A9P I think), Stock Mass Air Harness, fuel rails, injectors, upper and lower intakes. Probably some other stuff too. Looking for $250...

    2005 Gt Wheels & Tires for $299 ????

How unsafe can it be if you dont drive the car? I havent moved the car more than about 3' since I installed them 6 months ago. From the research that I had done before purchasing them the consensus seemed to be that 2" is the max that is safe. I personally dont feel there will be any...

    2005 Gt Wheels & Tires for $299 ????

I have them on my '65 Fastback w/ 2" spacers. The tires fit well in the rear but way too tall in the front. You will have to swap them out. I havent driven it yet so I dont know if there are any clearance issues (I dont think there should be) Trevor

    05 - 06 bullitt rims BS??

I have them on my '65 fastback. If I remember correctly I used 2" spacers all around. The 235/55/17's that come on them fit nicely in the rear but I am unable to turn the wheel the whole way in the front. I'm in the middle of engine work so I haven't gotten around to switching the tires yet. I...

Crankshaft Oil Slinger - Do I need it???

Thanks for the info guys. I did a search too and found pretty much the same answers. Its together now and I will see how it is. If it begins to leak too bad I will just have to switch back to a standard timing set. Its easy enough to replace in a year or so if warranted. Trevor

Crankshaft Oil Slinger - Do I need it???

With my double roller timing set the crank oil slinger does not fit between the crank timing gear and the timing chain cover. In this situation do I omit this part or are there thinner versions available? Thanks Trevor

    What timing pointer

That better not be the case - I spent about $150 on that stupid timing cover. This is one of those times I wish I had a chevy. Anyway, I bought a 1970 waterpump to go with a passengerside outlet griffen radiator that I purchased. When I went to install the pump I found the cast in timing...

    What timing pointer

I recently switched from my stock early '65 timing cover to the FRPP universal cover so that I could switch to a driver side water pump. I really don't feeling like spending $80 on a stupid billet pointer. Does a stock pointer off a late model 5.0 work on this? Is there something I can fab up in...

    HELP: Piston-Valve Clearance Issues

The engine is in the car. Thats why I didnt want to pull the head/header off to clay it. I am sure I will be happy with the XE268H over whatever was in there. The next engine I build will definately be out of the car. Thanks for the info.

    HELP: Piston-Valve Clearance Issues

I knew thats what I needed to do but I wanted to hear something better. You know - "they'll self clearance, dont worry about it":D . I do know that I have to go to a smaller cam because I am not going to touch the bottom end of the engine. I want to see as close to 300 reliable/streetable HP...
