87 Octance BP gas is the preferred gas for a stock tune on a Mustang GT. I have heard that is may be beneficial to use premium gas every other fillup though from one of the dealer Service Techs.
I heard the same thing but my best density altitude corrected 1/4 mile time came with a 91...
I went back and looked at Road & Track test of the 2005 Mustang as there is a link to their car tests in that article. When they got 13.9 sec 1/4 mile out of a 2005 GT, they listed the weather during the test at the bottom as 91 degrees, 35% humidity and a track elevation of 350 feet.
Why...
I don't know what the fascination is with 20 inch wheels these days. Sure, they look fashionable and Chip Foose-like but they aren't good performance tires for 0-60 and 1/4 mile ratings. And I would expect a Super Snake to be all about performance.
I don't think it should be that much heavier than a GT500.
One thing I will add, when Road & Track tested the 2005 Mustang GT, their 1/4 mile time for a manual was 13.9 seconds. Car & Driver got 13.5 secs out of a manual. So one wonders who the hell is testing these cars for Road & Track...

Seems kind of suspect that a 605 hp car only did a 4.4 sec 0-60 and a 1/4 mile of 12.5 seconds, when the 500 hp GT500 did 4.6 and 12.8. Three tenths of a second faster than the 500 hp GT500 in the 1/4 mile? A 100...
Thanks everybody!
My 13.390 sec run density altitude corrected was really a 13.416 sec @102.726 run because the weather conditions simulated 184 feet below sea level. However, I did have a 13.754 sec run in September at a density altitude of 2261.3 foot that corrected to a 13.391 sec run (see...
13.390 sec @ 102.93mph
I can finally say that I got my Stang into the 13.3s instead of saying my best density altitude corrected run corrects to a 13.3.
Everything is stock (3.31 gears, stock Pirelli radials) except for: CDC Shaker Hood Scoop System, Corsa Axel-back exhaust and a...
Thanks for the replies but I don't have an IPOD adapter. I tried to retune my car with an SCT tuner and nothing flashed on. I think it has something to do with ECM because there is a symbol on the dash that shows a man seatbelted with an apparent air bag blown up. That is the only thing I see...
My dash lights, speedometer, computer, AC doesn't work. The turn signals work but they don't make a clicking sound when they are on. My radio, windshield wipers, heater, map lights and head lights all work. ????
I estimate, just on altitude alone, that Heartland Park Topeka should be good for six tenths of a second off your time compared to Bandimore. The track is probably maintained and prepped better too since it is a NHRA Nationals facility. So that is probably worth a tenth. The track elevation is...
This 13.754mph @101.01 MPH run was done in 75.9 degree heat at Kansas City International Raceway last night and density altitude corrects to:
13.391 sec @ 103.814 MPH
Stock Pirelli tires, Automatic transmission, stock 3.31s gears---just a Bamachips 91 Octane Race tune, Shaker Hood...
Is the GT emblem on the 2005+ GTs a bolt on or adhesive emblem? I am thinking about putting Powered By Ford emblems like on the Shelby GT in its place and wondered how to do this.
Also, how to you get these "Powered By Ford" emblems. Someone said if you had a VIN # from an actual Shelby GT...
