How to get bushings and sleeve into front control arms...

actually, let me rephrase: I heard some little cracking/settling sounds and stopped. I assumed I was jacking up the arms but maybe this was just the sound of the bushing going in... also, I'm going slow cause I don't have an impact...

How to get bushings and sleeve into front control arms...

Yeah, I have a balljoint press here... it's from autozone. The problem is the jaw isn't big enough to fit the receiving cup and BOTH "cones." So I tried replacing the cone on the pushing side with a big cresent wrench (the biggest hunk of metal I had that wouldn't let the press slip off) and...

How to get bushings and sleeve into front control arms...

How to get bushings and sleeves into front control arms... I've searched everywhere trying to find tips on getting bushings and new sleeves into controls arms and found nothing. So, I've got a set of stock, 89 mustang a-arms... I removed the old rubber bushings and sleeves and need to get my...

    EEC-IV masters... Fuel flow signal?

thanks, I'll check it out. As for mounting, I'm lucky cause my bird had the clock above the radio... Couple custom brackets and it bolts right in place of the clock... Where are you going to put yours? I'd love to see it in your stang when you're done!

    EEC-IV masters... Fuel flow signal?

I'm installing a ford tripminder computer in my turbo coupe but where the 2.3t EEC-iv was is now an 89 5.0 unit. The 2.3 comp had a fuel flow signal at pin 34 to tap into to allow the tripminder to calculate mpg but my mass air 5.0 computer has nothing coming from pin 34... Where do I find a...

Why doesn't the key crank the engine?

Went to the grocery store... got back out, turned key..... nothing. No click, no crank, nothing... Checked the adjustment of the clutch switch... all good... Push started and drove home. I then checked the clutch switch with my DVM. 0 ohms when clutch in. Next, checked the solenoid...

Nothing for puller to grab - pilot bearing

well no, actually I didnt get the wrong puller, as I stated from the begining, I got "the only one autozone had" Of course I would have gotten a pilot bearing puller if they had one... But yeah, I got it out anyway.

Nothing for puller to grab - pilot bearing

Well, the reason the claws don't grab is because they are to big. So big that I can barely even get ONE of the three claws into the bearing. And using just one claw also sets the whole thing off for a pull. Anyway, I tried the grease method again, now that the inner bearing is out and it...

Nothing for puller to grab - pilot bearing

Ok, I'll try again. I think I need to get more air out. Had a lot of compression (bouncing) the first time. As for the reliefs, I noticed, but they are way to small to hook the claw of the slidehammer onto.

Nothing for puller to grab - pilot bearing

What exactly do you mean by "working it?" I tried cutting a slot in it with my dremel but the only bit I had sucked and it would have taken forever. Not to mention that I figure I would need two slots, opposite each other, for this to work. Maybe I need to go get new bits tomorrow?

Nothing for puller to grab - pilot bearing

Oh right, I forgot to say that I tried the hydraulic method already. But the fact that there really isnt a cavity behind the race (I guess you call it) doesn't help. Either way, I've tried it and it failed. But thanks... any other thoughts? I looked closer and there are two reliefs (one on...

Nothing for puller to grab - pilot bearing

Ok, so I'm attaching a really poor pic, but you'll see that, so far, I've gotten the inner part of my old pilot bearing out and, for the outer part, I am left with nothing to hook the claw onto! I'm using a large slide hammer (the only one autozone had) with only 1 of the 3 hooks attached. I...

How do you check fuel pressure?

Just an added note for you. Earlier fox mustangs had the shader valve on the metal lines that went from the chassis lines to the fuel rails (as stated, putting it somewhere behind the alternator) whereas 89+ (i believe) moved it to the fuel rails. So you probably do have the fox stang rails...

    Hard time starting when hot

Pull codes. A few people may give you some ideas that fixed there problem (I had a TFI cause this for a while) but until you pull codes (whether you get any or not) you shouldn't follow any parts replacement suggestions... Follow this link for code pulling directions...

Cruise control tried to kill me!

yeah, that's ok.... I still appreciate the response. It is pretty funny! It was me and my two older brothers on a road trip to Vegas and CA. We built the car from a shell the ten days before leaving (finishing it at 2:30 am the day we left) and that included the new 13" cobra braking...

Cruise control tried to kill me!

Ok, so it's about 7 years after the 5.0 swap in my Turbo Coupe. Cruise never worked after the motor swap until one day last spring, on a road trip from WI to CA, I pulled up on the clutch pedal with my foot (89 mustang pedal assembly, must have a weird notch that keeps the pedal from using the...

    AC install on a 5.0

Since no one else answered... According to your kit/directions, does this wire start at your heater controls before going to the pressure switch and compressor? I'd guess it does because it seems that signal kicks on the compressor clutch but only if the pressure switch sees enough pressure...
