Thanks for the pics... My buddy Bentley died a few months ago from old age, he was 15 1/2... I had planned on not getting another dog again as I turn 70 this month and things just get harder as you age.... So of course I called the breeder who I got Bentley from and they had a 2 1/2 year old female...
So here is " Cue "....

Awesome dogs! I had to say goodbye to my 10 year old chocolate lab a week ago today, Tuesday of last week he was fine and went for a walk, next morning he had a severe limp in his back legs and I thought he was just old and sore (I know the feeling), after a few days where it got worse I took him to the vet and after many tests they said he seems to have a neurological (likely spinal) issue, possibly a tumor and they could run tests the following week but whatever they find they wouldn't be able to fix anyway. It was a tough weekend, and I miss the pup, but it was for the best.

thankyou... Tough couple of weeks after he passed... I never want to make the one way trip to the vet again knowing they are not coming back.... I figure Cue will outlive me.....

Its always hard to lose a good pet friend. But Id still take the time Ive had with mine over the loss. They are part of the family.

Now that the body work is roughed in and have a couple rounds of high build primer. I popped the doors, fenders, bumper and trunklid on and set some initial gaps and some aligning.

Got all the panels lined up to block panel to panel and more engine bay progress getting behind the shock towers smoothed

I use powder some…mostly on fresh clear before cut. At this stage, I am using a spray guidecoat.

Got the whole car blocked and primed with 5 coats high build. Been working on it a month as of today. Most shops would be painting it next week. I’ll be letting it sit and shrinkback.

Huge difference man. I know you have mentioned it before but how long does it take for the fillers and primer to degas and shrink up?

3 to 6 months is the average depending on temp, sun exposure and the extent of the bodywork. If the body was in great shape, less body needed and less to shrink back. This car needed extensive body work so its probably waiting a while

Your comment about letting primer and bondo shrink and expand brought back a memory from probably 30 years ago..
A friend who came from a wealthy family was having an L88 corvette worked on by a corvette specialist a few states away... He had called the restoration guy and asked for a progress report and some pictures...
The pics came back and it showed his very rare L88 corvette outside in the sun, rain and snow..... Message with the pictures said something like " Real world temps and weather help the primer get to where it needs to be" ..
Pretty sure the car was a 68......
