What mods do you have on your 86?
I have an 86 and want to put tfs 170 heads on and eventually larger injectors and maybe a mild cam... e cam maybe ? ... will sd get weird?

The link to my build thread is in my signature. Once you start talking about heads, cam and injector changes, you will very likely need to move to mass air, and maybe even have the car tuned.
The 86 stock 5.0 engine did not have valve reliefs cut into the piston tops. You may have valve clearance issues, so using clay to check the piston to valve clearance is a must do item
Yep, claying or other means to check for valve clearance is always a must-do, but in general the twisted wedge heads can be used on the '86 engines, assuming your cam isn't too wild.
