shouldn't a STOCK cobra run ATLEAST 13.9 or 13.8??.... i ran 14.1s, 14.2s all night long. take a look at the video and tell me what u think.. maybe my car is not running right?? or do i just need to work on my launches?? i think i could have a slight exhaust leak, could that make me run slower?? this is the video from my thread the other day "01 cobra vs. 94 Trans Am"....

Work on your launches

Between your reaction and your 60' you should be able to knock off almost .5 on streets and a solid .5+ on DR's

reaction time DOES NOT affect e.t.'s

& yes the launch could be part of it, but it's hot as balls all across the south, so i'm sure that played a part in it also

Yes, I understand that the E.T's aren't effected by the reaction time, but damn.. .96?

your density altitude was what? that could have an effect on it, as could your inability to pull a good 60 foot time.

i'd rather cut a 10.1 reaction time but have a good clean run cause i 'took my time' at the light

what RPM are you shifting at? it may not be optimal to shift the 01 Cobra at redline.

Without knowing what the density alt. is, it's impossible to say if that's fast or not. Seems about right to me with that 60ft.

I almost cut a 2.2 60ft on a stock 03 GT in Florida.

I suck at the track too!

I'd imagine we both need alittle work on the 60ft. I'm on stock tires too, so that doesn't help. I met a guy down there with nitto 555's on, it was an older Maxima. He was tearing me apart with minor mods, but got very good traction. I was impressed... he sold the concept of "rubber matters"

you should be 2.0-2.04 for 60 ft.
reaction time has nothing to do with ET.
1/8 mile should be 8.8-8.9
the 1/8 mile per hour is low... very low. 80-81 mph at least 79.
1/4 mph is ok.
it looks like your first 1/8 mile killed you. you need to drop.2 off 60 ft.
practice
practice
practice.
now you see how hard it is to get a good ET. you need to experiment with rpm's at the line. some cars like some tirespin then a solid grab for good 60ft. some like clutch slip to reduce torque on tire. MY best advice is to bypass all these techniques and purchase nitto DR's or whatever brand you like. the rear end will suffer.(spider gears). MPH trap speed at 1/4 was probably good because there is less shifting and more legs in 4 valve. 13.9 is a good time. What is your altitude? you need a correction factor.

but i must say, first ever time at a real track thay is an excellent result. there is no telling how much time you will take off with practice.

also

also experiment with shift rpm's. a lot of new guys shift too late thinking it help ET. try runs with incremented RPM shift point to find if you have a torque car or HP car.
