01 gt , t45 or tr3650??

ive got a friend with a 01 gt, and we want to know what kind of transmission he has and how many quarts it takes????

Early 01s have the T45. Mid 01s have the 3650. I use 6 quarts in mine with a 3650 tranny

Check the production date on the tag located on your car. If your car was produced up to 2/21/01 you have a T45. From 2/22/01 you have a tr3650

Put the car in reverse while slowly moving forward. If it grinds, then its a T45. If not it's a TR3650.

yep. If it grinds in to reverse, its T-45

also the t45's drain plug is on the side, the 3650's drain plug is on the bottom.

you could say the same thing about powershifting 1-2. if it grinds its a T45.

Ck the VCL tag on the driver's side door post -
Under the "TR" section, a "K" indicates the TR-3650, a "6" indicates a T-45.
No guessing, no climbing under the car...

I've been shifting into 5th just before putting it in reverse. It helps alot!
