Ive had this car for just about 3 months and recently it took a few times to get it started, however it was turning over.

Now, no turn over, just one click. Theft light is not on (tried the wheel lock).

I did try to push start it, and it worked only twice. Now it wont start at all.

Have the batery charged and tested at a local parts store before throwing parts at it.

If it's not the battery maybe the alternator or starter?

Right, but which do I replace first? Anyway to test before I replace?

Get the battery fully charged...if it's starts right up again my guess is that it's not getting recharged by the alternator...if it doesn't attempt to start...then could be the starter

no, I feel stuck.

I don't want to waste time taking the starter out and not being able to get that hidden screw out. Especially since my car is on the street, around the corner from my house.

I tried jumping it. No change. Start still clicks. Tried hitting the starter, nothing.

Jumping it may not work if the battery is bad........again, take the battery to a parts store and have it charged and tested.......or leave the car set for a miracle cure.

It randomly started today without doing anything to it. Gotta be the starter, right?

Drove it to mechanic, wouldn't start again.

Batteries can build a small charge if left sitting for some time. Usually a bad starter does not decide to work. When they are working sporadically, the engine will attempt to turn a bit. This gives the starter comutator a different position for a chance at a good start. The next start is really a crap shoot if the internals of it stop on a good or bad connection spot.

Hopefully the mechanic does his own testing to identify the exact issue and not through parts at it until it starts.
