my business partner leased a 425hp 300c, 2006 model automatic and totally stock.he thinks he can take me in the quarte mile.personally,i doubt it but think it would be pretty close.tell me what you guys think of this match up.my stang is an o2 vert,5spd with triax(i power shift when i race),3:73 gears, underdrive pulleys, cold air system,75mm accufab,c&l plenum, sct tuned for 93octane,pypes x-pipe w/hi flo cats and a flowmaster american thunder catback.aside from racing him what times could i expect in the quarter mile.i've never been to the track.thanks guys!

You've got most of the mods to even things up, but it'll still be a close one......unless you're pretty proficient behind the wheel, he may just eek you out by a length or two. And considering you've never raced at the track before and all he's got to do is stab the pedal and go while you scramble around to get your car into the groove.......I'm handing the advantage over to him. Those cars are apparently good for mid/high-13's right off the showroom floor.

i've been tthe track with other cars i've owned , just not with this one,so i feel that if we ever get to the track i'd have the advantage since he's never been there in his life.we live in michigan and i'm told that that the law can confisate your car if caught drag racing.that would not be a good thing and not too safe on the streets.the track would be the only place i'd go for a grudge match.

well... the 340hp 300c hemi is good for low 14's at around 99mph

the 425hp srt-8 300c weighs 4,250lbs and is good for low 13's at around 109mph... you re going to get beat by at least 2-3 cars.. it does 4.7 in the 0-60mph

Bring some vaseline and a towel to cry on at the end of the day. You'll need it.

i read the srt's do about high 13's but after reading your responses i think i might race him after getting my vt stage 1's.maybe stage 2's but i want to see what the install would cost with the springs and all.stage !'s i'll probably do myself if i got the time.would it give me the edge with the cams you think?i can't imagine hime bolting right off the line and by the time he got he got some bite i'd be a few cars ahead and he'd have to make that up and pass me but my stang is no slouch by any means.

the SRT8 is comparable to the S197 GT as far as track times. have you raced a S197? what was that race like?

yea how about no..... a GT does not trap 109mph in the 1/4 how is it similar to racing a GT... its like .3-.4 slower than an srt-8 300c and traps like 104mph in the 1/4
