Ok here goes, I have an 02 vert gt automatic. It has approx. 35000 miles on it with no mods. About 2 weeks ago I noticed the car smelled like burned oil. I looked under the hood and found a pretty good size oil leak at the pcv valve on the passenger side valve cover.

It was leaking from around the area pcv valve plugs into the valve cover itself, if that makes sense. Ford did fix this at the time. I also found there is a TSB on this but when I had confronted the dealer about it they told me they were un aware of it.

Now I went back to the dealer today to make an appointment to see it they could fix my "idle" problem that I had complained about the last time it was in for it's oil leak. (This had not been fixed at the time. No codes etc.) After returning home I looked under the hood and found its leaking oil in the same spot again!!!!

Anyone else experiance this? If so what's the deal? Any advice? I would trade the car in but I owe way too much on it. (Though the MACh 1 I test drove today was very tempting :-).

Thanks ahead of time,
David

My '02 has leaky valve covers. After it sits for a few days, oil drips onto the exhaust header and smokes.

I figure I might take it in the last weeks of my 3yr warranty, as I am sure they will screw up my black paint trying to replace the cover gaskets. By then the '05's will be out and I'll probably looking for a good excuse to get one anyway!
