03/04 -> 96 Tranny Swap / Broken Shifter?

Does anyone know if the 03/04 Cobra T-56 will fit in my 96 Cobra?

Also, my shifter leans towards the driver's side (1st looks too far left, seen in this picture), is this normal? All my friends have aftermarket shifters so I really don't know.

(Sorry this is the wrong section. My mistake.)

I cant tell from the picture (its not letting me see it).

As far as the tranny swap goes, yes you can fit a T-56 in a 96 cobra, but its going to take some work. I would go with a TKO 500/600 instead, personally. When I was contemplating a tranny swap I was going to go with that tranny since the T-56 is VERY $$. Not to mention its a heavier tranny and will make you end up losing time on the track.

The t56 will fit in your '96 Cobra/ That's what I had on my cobra before I sold her. You will need 6spd shifter, driveshaft to a 03/04 cobra and the tranny. Make sure you get a speedo cal. I gots mine from Dallas Mustangs and make sure to specify T56 tranny for the speedo cal. And also 3:73 work great with the T56. 3rd and 4th gear were real pulling gears and even 5th pulled some too.

silentbulllit - do you happen to have the part # for this speedo calibrator? i just swapped the 04 cobra t56 into my 98 cobra and the speed sensors are vastly different. i have talked to some mustang tuning shops, some say it can be calibrated with a tune and others say it wont.... im stuck without a speedo and cruise control until i figure this out...

and malevolyn - the t-56 in my 98 is amazing! it pulls pretty hard even through sixth gear. i have 4.30's an aluminum flywheel, and aluminum driveshaft though... definitlely the way to go! and with 4.30's it runs about 2300 in 6th, so its got crazy torquiness down bottom and still cruises great on the highway...
