I can get a 04 Cobra drivshaft for dirt cheap, I know they are alittle shorter but I have heard a few guys have made them work with the New Edge GTs , anybody know what parts to use to make it work ? thanks !
Its aluminum, unlike our factory steel ones. It weighs like 5 pounds less or something like that too. I believe he will need some sort of spacer, like the one Steeda sells here, although I do not know of the size you will need.
The cobra ds is 1.5" shorter than the gt and the companion flange has a different bolt pattern so the steeda spacer won't work plus it won't make up the length difference. How cheap is dirt cheap? If you aren't going to use it, I need a stock 03 cobra ds and would appreciate any help.
No spacer is needed.........Swap out the rear yoke to the SRA version or buy the Cobra pinion flange and make it a bolt in affair. I know of several low 10 second Cobras that converted to a solid rear with no issues, including my own car. There is plenty of yoke that still rides inside of the tail shaft of the trans. No leaks, no vibration, no problems.
