I'm nearly sure I'm going with the PHP (Pauls's High Performance) unit.
JDM makes a nice one, but I don't want to cut into the bumper to fit it.

Supposedly the PHP unit uses the existing brackets and does not require cutting. Has anyone actually seen (on a scan tool) a major differenece in their before boost and after boost IAT with the heat exchange upgrade?

Anyone have any opinions on which unit they prefer? Does anyone have the moto-blue unit?
I'm almost sure I'm gonna use the PHP, but I'm open to opinions/arguments.

With the 2.8 upper, a heat exchange upgrade is a safe thing to do anyway, and I may be porting the blower (found someone who makes more power than aptens) and adding a 2 or 4 lb lower.

Gord heat exchanger is the best in my opinion.

That's what I will be getting.

Ditto. I'll be purchasing the GordsFord HX by the end of the week. Its a high quality piece that requires ZERO modifications to install.

All I've read stated Gord's unit was the best available and easiest to install.

hey now

If any of you have a chance would you mind explaining exactly what a heat exchanger does? Cool the engine down? Just the blower? etc etc

The heat exchanger cools the antifreeze that circulates through the supercharger intercooler.

Yes, and this cools the IAT after boost.
This usually will result in more power and of course safer boost.
When you do the math and see how much pulley upgrades raise your afterboost IAT, a heat exchanger upgrade is a no brainer with a pulley swap.
I'll have to look into Gords unit.
