03/4 Cobra Inlet Air temps

Does the computer read each value separately?

If so, even better as the ambient temperature doesn't matter as it is the delta-T that I'm really interested in.

Do you know of anyone that has datalog such information?

Thanks again,
Hop

As far as the 03/04's are concerned the computer reads the IAT1 and IAT2 values separately.

There have been a few guys who have data logged the different IAT temps over on Modular Fords. They data-logged values before and after HE changes and such. Try a search in their Terminator forums located here:

ask and ye shall receive!
the relationship is easier to show, than it is to explain. I am only are showing the air-coolant temps with rpm and this is from what was a hotlap, so few people at the track meant I only had time to refill my chiller box with ice and drive up to the line within 10 mins. This was a decent 11.6 run, my 60 fts were killing me (>1.76) but I could feel some heat soak and lack of snap at the finish.
UM, I got you covered! :flag:

Meat,
Thanks for the link!!!!!!!

04 Snake,
Now that's what I'm talkin' 'bout!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the pic.

What's a Raptor set a fella' back these days?
Is that logger better than an XCal?

Thanks,
Hop

I paid a little less than 4 bills last winter for just the Raptor, the XCAL-2, the new flasher is also a datalogger which is supposed to be equivilent to the Raptor pure datalogger, but a differnet company is making them and initial performance testing shows that maybe the older Raptor is able to log more things at once and keep up better, but the XCAL-2 just may need a few firmware/software fixes to make it right. I am holding onto my Raptor/XCAL-1 combo for the time being.

Hey 04 Snake... Correct me if I'm wrong, but the computer starts to pull timing when IAT 2 temps exceed 150, correct? I just want to confirm at what temp this occurs.

Thanks

You are correct sir! the first too high temp in the table is 150*, but how much (if any at all) is actually pulled is totally configurable. On that run I saw max spark in 4th of only 20.8*, where normally on a cool run that would be 23.0-23.8*, even in third I only saw 23.0* (instead of 23.8*). ECT or the exhaust gas tempurature that gets too high can also cause timing to be pulled. Now some canned tunes somewhat disable the EEC from pulling timing, so they can command whatever max they want to see, always, but they usually set that top number lower like 19-21*, I put alot of the original Ford scheme back in because I want timing pulled if the sucker is roasting, like it was on this hotlap, that way I can be a little more aggresive with that top timing number, knowing if the conditions are not right, measures will be taken to protect from detonation.

I usually see my max around 135-140, with my SC cooling upgrades (chiller box, oversize HE) so timing usually isn't pulled. Methanol injection can lower that IAT2 temp to around 100* gaining air density and some HP but mainly so they can increase the timing by several degrees without knocking for major increased HP.

I love this stuff, I'm such a frustrated geek.

Thanks for the info 04_Snake.

It aint much.....but here is a tip for ya'

To make the degree sign press Alt + 0176 (on the key pad) and you'll get the ° sign!!!!!!
