hi i recently bought a beautiful 2003 10 anniv. cobra and had two questions
first the transmission makes a little noise(winding noise?) when in first or in neutrual,i was told it was normal???second i have bassani catback and not sure if i should get the xpipe with cats or no cats.i know without cats louder but i hear u lose horsepower?if i get catted i know i can still pass smog cause i had a 01 cobra with cats and passed.
any feedback is welcomed.

Stay with the cats, power is in the bigger pipes.

Noise is normal

These T56's make a bit of noise, nothing out of the ordinary. You will make some more hp up top, not much though with a off-road pipe. Catted mid-pipes these days flow pretty well. Stay legal.

yeah haha

yeah if you start to beocme bothered by all the interesting sounds that will come from your car, then you need to get a louder exhaust. You payed for an engine, not much else...but it is one hell of an engine.. and of course the car looks awesome

There is a TSB for "hard shifting". It involves the throw out bearing and a piece on the transmission. Your noise could be this tsb. I had a UPR off road X-pipe on my 03 cobra and it sounded kinda ricey.
