Any one put a starter button kit on an 03' GT before. I've seen the kit they sell for the 05' + mustangs, but can not find one for the earlier mustangs.

I don't see why you couldn't wire up a '05 + push button starter in a New Edge. I sorta want to do the same thing to my '01 and put the button where that coin slot thing is.
OR you could get the button custom molded to the head light switch lol. That way it does more than just move in and out. Or put it where the lighter would go. If you have a viper remote start alarm, there is a kit that you can put your key into a small box and stuff under your dash to wire up the remote start (i had this on my old auto v6), but im sure you could pay a tech to custom wire it so when your alarm is disarmed the button will work and when its armed it wont. That would be much safer, or just stick to remote start from the button on your remote, hey its still a button lol.
What's the point? You still gotta put the key in the ignition.
Just doesn't make sense to put the key in, and then reach over and hit a button somwhere else. If they could make a system that mimics the intelligent keys of new Lexus and Infinit's then it would be worth it to me. I haven't had to take my keys out of my pocket in months!

I hear push-button starters on Mustangs also make the Ford PATS worthless. I wonder if it's true?
Thats why i mentioned doing it through the viper remote start alarm Because the box is for the pats system, what i did was stick a program key in there but cut the key so if removed it couldnt start the car, that box makes it so you dont need the pats to start the car with remote start, so im sure you can custom wire it so you can push the button on the dash instead of the remote.
If you do it through the viper car alarm system then the pats system is not useless. The alarm uses the signal from the key in the box to remote start the system, but wont move intill you put the key in. So i guess i see what Mustang5L5 means by you would still need the key.
