Last cobra I owned was a 1998 model. I picked up this 04 back in september....11K mile, showroom stock. Have since added the typical mods (pulley, exhaust, tune, etc...) Great car, lots of low end tq. Fun cruiser. I'm still debating on how exactly to lower it and if I go with aftermarket rims.........so it's a bit of a 4x4 at the moment.

actually, I drive the car about everyday. I bought the car at labor day with 11,300 miles and I'm already at 17,600 right now. 4 months and lots of mods with more in mind - lol. I'm having fun with this mofo....but I think I will look into that cleartastic stuff or whatever film product I can get for the nose area.

Jeff!

What's going on man? Hope all is well. Sweet car! Love the color.

I remember your old car, the bullitt and the Z. Do you still go out to HRP? Did you move? I picked up a Z a few months back. Fun car. Anyways, hope all is well

I'm doing fine. I hardly ever make it out to hrp, I haven't been in probably 18 months. But I do plan on taking this car out there this spring, most likely in feb. after a big front.

a very interesting question - and difficult to answer for a couple of reasons. Number one, this 04 is a vert and an iron block/eaton blown front end heavy car. I'd guess this 04 car is probably 250-300lbs heavier than the 98 coupe. So, advantge 98 from a weight standpoint (and also gearing since the 98 had 4.10s and a better geared transmission).

now to power output - keep in mind, the strim'd 98 car made 460rwhp. The 04 car pullied makes 460rwhp. A true wash in the HP dept....but the TQ dept is a vastly different curve. The strim'd 98 car made 385rwtq peak around 4000rpms....the 04 car makes 493rwtq at 3500. Even going lower in the rev band....say 2500rpms, the 04 makes 490ft lbs versus maybe 300ft lbs for the 98 car. This 04 just has a big block feel in comparison. Much funner to drive around town IMO.

here's the 98 graph done over at mti in august '99 (huge heat issues on the 2nd pull - lol):
