Hi, I own a 98 gt convertible but I have a friend considering buying an '05 v6 convertible. how manageable are these in the snow as compaired to previous platforms? I know mine can't touch it, but I'm hoping being that it'll be a v6 and an '05 it'd be better off. If not can you recommend any sporty looking convertibles because I can't think of any off the top of my head right now. Thanks!

I drove mine a few times in the snow and ice and was actually impressed. The car handles really well and just remember to go easy when starting off or you will get wheelspin, and make sure the traction lock is on.

the new TCS (optional on the V6 standard on the GT) should help a bit in pulling away in snowy conditions.

But its a rear dirve car so will be pretty poor as are all cars in the snow. No TCS system will stop you in these conditions and cornering will still be quite limited.

Your '98 will go anywhere you want in the snow if you put some snow tires on it. The new model has significantly better weight distribution so it should be even better.

Haha, I know, i drive the thing year round, though for me it's not a problem, I know how to handle it. But, I'm asking more for a girl who's looking into getting one than for myself. I'm looking into an '00-'02 s4 for the winter for myself.

Girls can drive in the snow as well or as poorly as men. My wife commuted 60 miles a day in Iowa while driving a '67 Mustang. She even showed up twice to find that her employer had closed for day.

haha i know, it's just this girl in specific, she'd be going from an older civic to the mustang. and she's not too big into driving.
