Roush 06 Speedster "mock up"

I'll pick at it too, Marcus.

First of all it looks too bulky from the side view. Also, it's too "busy" with all those flat areas painted black. It needs to be a bit more streamlined & smoothed out. And yes, that chrome accent strip on the light bar is too girlish.
But then again, look at Saleen's updated website wherein they are obviously marketing the new cars @ a more "feminine" demographic.

I hate that new website. Bring back the old one!! As for the car in the pics, I think I might drive it if it was given to me. That cover is hurting. I think they missed the boat on this one.

The Speedster Cover looks, hideous.

I agree.......in fact, IMHO the new bodystlye looks hideous altogether. Remember, just my opinion before you 05 owners start :flame: me.
If anyone dislikes the 94-98 bodystyle I would respect your opinion as well, although I would think you were nucking futs.... :p
If I wanted a "retro" style 67 fastback like the new 05 is based on, I would go buy a 67 fastback and "retro" style the old push-rod myself. I guess I am just old fashion....... :nice:

s351, I completely agree with you, there is no appeal at all to me for the 05. But I suppose to each is own...

I have rather seen a true forward progression in design but the ’05 body style is finally growing me. Still, I am more enamored with improved platform and the upcoming Cobra drive train, than the exterior bodywork.

I am let down by the Speedster cover. It looks clunky sitting on there. It just doesn’t say “sleek” like the earlier versions.

This is how it usually works for me.

1993, see the new SN95 for 1994. Hate it, what the hell? Then after a couple of years what I have is so tired I just go down and buy one. Same thing happened in 98. Saw the 99 and said, gee the f - ed it up. Oh well, might as well go down and buy one anyway as it does not look that bad.
The 05 has been around for a good year now and when I stand next to it, it looks HUGE. It's not that I hate it. I just don't love it yet. Bottom line is I love Mustangs so when it come down to it and want something new it does not look like I have a choice. But, just but, since I'm a bit older now I may go another direction when I go pick up something new this time around. I guess only time will tell.
I will say though that from DAY ONE back in 1984 the "looks" of a Saleen Mustang always distanced itself from the regular mustang GT. From a distance on the freeway you can tell a new mustang is up there but you have to get a lot closer now to distingush what you are looking at is SO different than a regular GT.

I have to agree with you guys, the tonneau does not look good. It doesn't blend in with the rest of the car.... to add on. And S281Cobra, you may have talked to one of the sales guys that just quit. Two have left Saleen in the last couple of weeks. And as far as the Wind-Gard goes, we have it in production right now and should be on the market by next month.

I know how to fix that new Speedster cover. In stead of calling it a Saleen Speedster option, call it Saleen Mad Max! It looks like it was designed by the same guys that did the cars for the movie :barf: As far as that chrome strip on the light bar, you've got to be kidding me!! If you're going to put that on there, Saleen might as well put the chorme strip's down the sides of the doors to match... :rlaugh:
