0605 code after tune for c&l

P0605 - Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Read Only Memory (ROM) Error
Description: The PCM ROM has been corrupted.
Possible Causes: An attempt was made to change the calibration.
Module programming error.
Damaged PCM.
Diagnostic Aids: Reprogram or update the calibration.
Reprogram the VID block (use as built data).
Check for other DTCs or drive symptoms for further action.
Application Key On Engine Off Key On Engine Running Continuous Memory
All Make sure to check for aftermarket performance products before installing a new powertrain control module (PCM). If it is necessary to install a new PCM, refer to Section 2, Flash Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM).

So, does that mean he trashed his PCM by installing a tuner? How did that happen? I've been debating this same upgrade for some time now, but if it's this easy to screw up your car I might just pass. Do you really think the average joe is going to be able to run through all that diagnostic mubo jumbo you just listed under diagnostic aids?

no, he didnt trash it. I just put down what it says on Ford Tech Service site. I bet if he clears the code, it wont come back. Dont worry about the tuner. Any guy with hands and eyes can handle it. Good luck
