Does anyone here shift their TR-3650 differently to boost gas mileage? I looked at the tach spreadsheet I made and it seems I would have to shift from 1st to 4th at 2500 RPM to prevent a stallout or excessive bogging. Is this a feasible way of shifting in the city to avoid excessive 2nd/3rd gear synchro wear and to boost fuel economy?

1st to 4th is not feasable, it can be done, but you would need to shift at 4500+ in first, if you really one want one shift, I sometimes start in 2nd and shift to 4th

You'd dang near hafta redline first gear to shift to fourth, and that'd be a waste of gas. Lots of times though, taking a turn, i'll take it in second, then skip third and go right to fourth.

How does the Corvette do a 1-4 skip shift? It uses a TR-6060, but I am not sure if they adjusted the gearing.

I'm pretty sure the vettes use the t-56, not the tr-6060. I know the older ones, along with camaros used t-56's and had the shift skip you speak of. They also had larger engines that made more torque.

With 4:30's in the rear, it's alot easier to skip shifts, you don't have to use 1st at all.
