I'm looking at header options for the AFR 185's I'm gonna run.
The only longtubes I can see see that will fit the AFR's exhaust port are made by FPA and are pricey close $500 and over that in ceramic.
I was thinking about the option of 1 3/4 shorties, if such a thing is even made. I know shorties generally don't flow or make as much power as longtubes but in comparison to 1 5/8 longtubes on a 302, would I still be giving up power? My biggest concern is the port transition into the headers, right now my 1 5/8 longtubes don't match up right.
BTW, this engine is not going into a fox, but shorties should fit on my 68 with no problem

(5 speed headers will fit C4's though)
