1/8th mile

I personally don't like 1/8th mile stuff at all. To me the fun is just getting started at the 1/8th and when only racing to that point it seems a bit silly to me to just stop.

I guess it's presonal prefference though.

I don't know anything about the Monroe track, but I have nothing against 1/8th mile. I do more 1/8th mile than 1/4. My local track is only 1/8th so I might as well use it. If you are going racing it doesn't matter how long the track is. To me is all about the competition. 1/8th mile is actually more challenging because there is less room for mistakes. I know a lot of people think that if it's not 1/4 mile, it's not worth it, but if you’re there to race does it really matter how long the track is? Is shifting one more time and running the car out that extra little bit really that much more exciting? Don’t get me wrong I am not saying that ¼ mile isn’t cool, but don’t pass up the opportunity to run your car just because it’s an 1/8 mile track!

It's a joke.

You burnout out on the banking, you stage on the banking ... run down the front stretch then hit the brakes and turn hoping the guy next to you doesn't loose his and take you out.

Total ghetto operation. I know they're working with what they have, but the people running the show ... and all of the other logistics involved ... hmm ...

Go out there for a race and you'll see. Once you've raced at Pacific Raceways (or any other real 1/4 track) and then Monroe, you'll feel very privelaged. I was actually pretty surprised a lot of the redneck locals have ONLY raced on the 1/8th at Monroe and can't imagine driving to Kent for the 1/4.

Different crowd for sure.

Nah, wish I was.

Can't afford any misfortunes again like last week when the clutch assembly took a dump. My tune isn't worked out (having fuel pump voltage issues) and I'll be out of a job in just over a month.

I need to start saving my pennies and call the season a good game. It's a bummer racing all of the races except the last two (and even more so when it's a double points race) but I can't gamble with these things anymore until next year. :(
