Anyone have a good fix for these stupid things? My car has the second set of connectors that ford put in to fix them but they still act up sometimes. If I remove the ford recall connectors the car will barely run. I was wondering if I should replace them with an aftermarket set of 10-pin connectors? I can solder pretty damn good so i bet it wouldnt be that hard to put new connectors on and shrink wrap the old wires where i solder them. Any ideas? I did find these DMS3106A18-1S - DDK CONNECTOR,FREE-HANGING PLUG, 10 POS,SOCKETS,SOLID SHELL,SIZE 18
DMS3106A18-19P - DDK CONNECTOR,FREE-HANGING PLUG, 10 POS,PINS,SOLID SHELL,SIZE 18 but I was wondering if someone had an easier way to fix them.

clean and spray them with elecrical parts cleaner than take a tiny screwdriver and open the pins alittle to fit snugger in the connector add some dielectric grease and thats about all you can do with those.if you solder them you will have a hard time removing the intake in the future.as far as the extensions go i removed mine from my 90 and it didnt hurt anything.phil

As suggested, remove the extender and clean the engine and body harness pins and sockets. Spray the 10 pin connector pins and sockets down with electronic parts cleaner or non-inflammable brake parts cleaner (same stuff in a bigger can and cheaper too). Use an old toothbrush to clean all the dielectric grease off the pins, and a Q-tip to swab the sockets if you can find a small enough one handy. Try not to leave any of the cotton behind from the Q-tip.
